Pokémon Go - Gen II

Gym activity seems to be up today. Got a few Pokémon back to me, including this big guy, who had been guarding the bottom slot of a gym for the past two days

Not a bad day today. Added 5 to the Pokedex to being me to 205 in total.
We Went to Newbridge and Naas. Caught enough Teddiursa to evolve Ursaring finally. Hatched Scyther to evolve Scisor. Hatched Shuckle. On way home managed to randomly catch Donphan and Snubbull in Citywest. Also caught a shiny Magicarp - finally!
Hatched a lot of 2km eggs today... from them got Tangela, Scyther, Rhyhorn, Grimer, Phanpy, Tyrogue (x2), Abra... among others.

Haven't got a Lapras from a 2km yet, think it's the only one I've yet to hatch from them.
Got a Porygon from a 10km this morning aswell - I hope the switch to the 10km is permanent - I'll take a Porygon over Pineco/Gligar/Mantine any day (need those candies for PorygonZ

2k eggs today have been Lapras, Milltank, Grimer and another Togepi. Two 10ks were Porygon and Chansey which gave me 20 odd candies to feed my Blissey putting it near 3000cp so not a bad day so far.

Getting a steady stream of 5kms here but every single one of them is Totodile. Where are the Cyndaquil?! Hatched a Girafarig and a Lickitung from 2kms this morning, that's my two best hatches this event.

How feckin hard is it to get a 5km egg? Bloody hell - picked up three on Friday and only one since!

Still no Shiny Magi here and I'm getting through at least 10 Magikarp everyday

Finally got a shiny magikarp but with an IV of around 60. Now the decision on whether to evolve or not.

240k away from level 34, was kinda hoping to 35 before the end of the event, got another 100 mon ready to evolve, thinking if i use my lucky eggs too ill be able to reach it before the end. Is it worth buying 8 lucky eggs for 250coins? got some for the early 20s lvls, might be worth having some spare for these later levels, but i dont feel the big push to reach lvl 40 anytime soon, as said above i see that as a long term goal, and will get there at some point. Ive been trying not to put 2k eggs into incubators, seems to be such a waste but havent been getting any other kinda eggs since the start of the weekend

I ticked over to 35 last night, and even with grinding through double XP this week, I'd imagine I'll only hit a quarter of the way through to 36. Can't imagine ever hitting 40, and I've played every day since the beginning, so I can only imagine the time and effort that goes into reaching the top!

MAX level should be unobtainable for causals, long term goal for normal players and a tough target to be for hardcore players.

2 million XP from level 36 to 37, and I've actually made a nice dent in it already. Only hit level 36 on Friday but I'm already 400k into it.
The really depressing thing to think is that you need 20 million total XP to hit level 40, so none of us are even halfway there yet!

Apart from Shuckle and Miltank in 2km eggs (the only two in 2km eggs I need for the Pokedex) I think what you really want (at least what I do) are 5km and 10km eggs during the event. 5km eggs are hatching only Chikorita, Cyndaquil and Totodile whilst 10km eggs are hatching Snorlax, Dratini, Larvitar, Porygon, Mareep and Chansey*.

I think it would be very interesting and good for the game if Niantic left egg distributions like this after the event. It would get me to spend some money on incubators instead of before when you walked 10km to hatch a Gligar, Sudowoodo or Mantine. At least now everything that is in 10km eggs is good and if I get crap from a 2km egg at least I only walked 2kms for it and not 10kms.

*There's no way of telling if this is definitive because not everybody who reports data cleared their eggs out beforehand but I feel this is about as trustworthy as we have until Niantic spills the beans.

I'm getting mostly crap from these eggs for the event. They're all new ones because I emptied the egg bag in anticipation. Only good stuff I got was a Cydnaquil and a Chikorita from 5km eggs. Everything else was Rhydons, Abras (like 6 of them) and Slowpoke out of the 2km eggs.

Ah I'm not even too bothered about levelling up anymore. I wouldn't have hit 35 for a while if not for the double XP

Picked up two 5kms today, is it only starters in 5k at the moment, as everything else seems to be in 2km? My daughter hatched yet another Lapras from a 2km and a Porygon from a 10k. Really disappointed with my own hatches this event. I don't need a Lapras or Aerodactyl, etc, but it would be nice to see something different hatching!

From today's eggs I got Ryhorn, Bulbasaur, Abra and two Cloyster, not having much luck with these new 2ks (one of the above was 5k I think).

I managed a Miltank from a 2km today, I've had four Aerodactyl out them aswell. Up to 70 eggs since the event started - only four of them 5km, but at least two were Cyndaquil, Up to 94 candy now. If I could get one more I reckon I'll have Typhlosion by the end of the week

Oh cool, that's something at least. When I checked an online list of rewards they didn't mention an incubator, so it's good to hear that they give you one.

Still incredibly stingey when you consider the amount of XP you need to earn going from 30-35, I haven't calculated it but I'm afraid to...
