Quick report on my Bangernomics sourced Saab 9-3, 1.8i
I picked it up last June for only €995 and since then replaced a left side spring as well as MAF sensor, just flew the NCT with only a pair of parking bulbs replaced for €4.50.
So, car has so far cost me about €1200 and smashing value.
So, Thanks Bangernomics!

Edit: that said, i have messaged the owner of the Alfa estate there about a possible trade...

There are a few other things amiss, but it is things I can cope with, like the traditional Saab door lock madness, and things that are handy to fix, I have to drop in a new interior blower fan, the one I have is unresponsive to both climate control settings and being soaked in WD40!
But nothing really of a major concern.
I'd say I'll run it for another year, NCT it again then, and sell it for the price I bought it for, free car....

I got a set for the front of mine last year and didn't think they were that great. Wet grip wasn't nearly as good as the Michelins that replaced them.

I had one for 2 years (about 5 years ago). Put 80k miles on it without any major problems. Wiper motor was the only thing I remember going on it. I only remember because it happened on a horribly rainy night driving from Dublinto Carlow. Mine had about 100k miles on it when I bought it

Those clks are quite decent. Good power out of them, nice autobox and savage presence on the road when the roof is down.

You can easily load up 4 people and spin down the country on a nice sunny day and people will think you're loaded.

The hardest thing to do is tax the bastard :pac:

To be honest, it'd be my concern with any 18 year old car. Quick look under it and examine the nct report from last year. Thick wax oil everywhere would start to scare me.
However the chances of it being completely rotten this year and structurally sound last year are slim. Possible, but slim.

If it was a UK car, Id be much more worried. Ours has rust on it. On the bootlid of all places. However structurally its solid

That's very cheap. Now it is the basic SE spec which is not that popular, but assuming it isn't a total dog, that's fierce value - and is bad news for us civic drivers who are usually comforted by high prices.

Yeah looks like the door was attempted to be forced open. Oddness going on with e paint on the rear passenger side quarter too.
