The last thread was nearing the 10k post limit so here's part 3.

The same rules as the last thread apply here. People seem to have strong opinions either way when it comes to McGregor and threads here tend to get a bit heated from time to time. Please keep it civil and discuss all things Conor in a mature way.

Strange post but I agree with nearly everything he said in it. I'm just scratching my head why he mentioned Kevin Iole, who was just stating a fact that there was a big promotional push by Top Rank for his debut.

I suppose the upside to writing a (very good) book is making lots of money from it. The downside is the need to promote the thing either by saying stupid sh1t to generate headlines (Meryl Streep) and/or devoting a lot of time to book tours, speaking engagements etc.

We're probably looking at the latter here.

There is no way this fight should be sanctioned.

He doesnt even have a jab it would be like a horror movie to watch unless Mayweather decided to finish it very early. Anyone who is saying otherwise is deluded . There is no way on Earth this fight could go the distance.

Please god Mayweather stays retired . And please god McGregor doesn't become blinded by the money, continues to dominate MMA and give this country a lift.

It is the very same as a high jumper claiming that he or she can beat the best ever long jumper in the world at the long jump. It will be interesting to see if they stick to the long jump during the competition.

I'm not sure the weight difference is going to be the 25-30lbs people are saying though. Floyd will want the contest at 147lbs but the best evidence we have for Conor's walking weight is the result of his DEXA Scan which was taken 5-6 weeks before the Eddie fight and he was 77kg with 7% body fat.

So he was walking at 169lbs. The consensus from boxing experts is Floyd walks between 152-154lbs. So it'd be about a 15lb advantage. Some were trying to make out Conor had a few stone in hand after rehydrating but I'm not so sure.

Anyway that only becomes a factor if Conor can actually hit him or wear him down in the clinch (where Floyd is a master of dirty tricks).

This will be the biggest cross code combat event if it ever happened....I knew of MMA before CMcG but know way way more now because of him,I watch all sorts of MMA because of the exposure McGregor has given the sport.....I was always a boxing fan...only casual in both but I guess Im the kinda person they reaching out to...KO'd or not Mayweather has called McGregor out now so its get it on or his a chicken ****.
Ill give McG kudos for even stepping in the ring with Floyd because his hopelessly outclassed.

The first assertion is false - Nate wobbled him in the first fight. He didn't have him in trouble once in the 2nd fight. The second one is correct to a point.

The issue with that assertion is that Conor believed he could walk through the punches at 145lbs. He didn't believe in the ability of featherweights to hurt him and, to an extent, he was right. Chad caught him flush with many shots and didn't once hurt him. At 170lbs he discovered Nate could (and did) hurt him.

Since that fight, I'd challenge the notion he gets hit a lot, especially when he is fresh. For the first 8 minutes of the Diaz 2 fight and the whole of the Alvarez fight, I can count on one hand the amount of times he got hit cleanly and they were mostly body shots. That's pretty impressive to go 15 mins+ of 2 fights against world class opponents and barely get hit. My point is his defensive responsibilities went to a new level since he was seriously wobbled in the first Diaz fight.

In boxing, Mayweather is so good he may just tag Conor relentlessly and if it's going that badly he will be pulled out of the fight in between rounds.

Haven't watched the 1st fight in a long while but a clean punch half way through the second round and this was so obvious at the time was the beginning of the end for Conor added to the over committing and panic wrestling.
