Ordered in 6 weeks ago and had the wrong DP number on the order possibly a record 5 times - 3 failed installs when KN realised they were sent the wrong information. So three precious annual leave days later we're live. As it seems to be a reoccurring issue, I would advise everyone to call OpenEir (The wholesale) after 12pm on the day before your install when they get the order, and check if the DP number matches the box that the fibre is due to be installed from to avoid this. Service is great, but the range isn't up to much on the 5Ghz connection, unless that isn't the case for others?

For example our DP number ended in 30 - and Eir consistently sent a DP number ending in 31 to KN Networks so when they went to install they couldn't as the 31 DP didn't even exist. The engineer was about to leave and let us ring Eir again but he was really helpful and called a supervisor and got this number changed.

Was on the phone for over an hour yesterday and they said they will issue me a new install date within a week. What worries me is the person on the phone said I will very soon receive an email just about customer service etc and I haven't even received that. So im wondering should I ring them up again and just re-verify all contact information.

Trying to figure out why my Eircode or line won't pass. Sales rep today selling fibre (caught on the road by luck) tried his best I'd say but could not get it passed either, he mentioned the fact they have a prequalifying list of Eircodes where they can take pre-orders, the other ones apparently must wait for the 5th of April which seems to be the live date. Tears have now flooded my keyboard and I must stop typing, M

Last month's count was just shy of 10,000 premises passed, hopefully another few thousand added in the next update and not as many live dates slipping.

They must be launching it in phased weeks, perhaps your house will be live by the April 5th? I would have thought they were all live by this stage, are your neighbours in same boat, having to wait for the 5th or are they able to get it now? Fairly certain it's live here now because one of my neighbours looked like he had an install 2 days ago, there is a fiber cable running to the gable end of his house since Monday.

After scanning through the thread and seeing some of the issues with Eir and KN and and DP numbers I said it would be no harm to give OpenEir a call. They confirmed the installation date but said it a two part install. Firstly they will update/install a phone line even though I didnt want a phone package? and then they will run the FTTH a different day. Is this the case and is it necessary. Eir claimed the same as above and said there is no line rental and assured me my monthly charge will be €55. Any info would be great. thanks

Gonzo wrote: » yep, enter a number from a blue line route thats due to be completed within the next few months and then it gives you an option to input an eircode or to continue checking without eircode. use the checker here https://www.eir.ie/broadband/

The problem I have is that the exchange my FTTH will be connected to is not the one my POTS line(s) is connected to. It just comes back with "we couldn't check your line". Or else, the information is just not available yet (we are Spring/Summer 2017) .....
Gonzo wrote: » your FTTH will arrive from a different exchange than that of your phoneline? That's a strange one, The eircode checker never appeared on my line and it had me worried that I wouldn't pass for FTTH, but my line has been passing for 2 weeks now. I had to submit my Eircode during the initial ordering process and now i'm waiting for a new install date as the last order went astray. Probably be April before Im up and running at this stage. The eircode checker will only appear if you put in a phone number first, if your phone line is from a different exchange to the one that will provide FTTH, then you may have to wait till the exchange is live or ring up Eir when the area goes live as I doubt your phone number will ever return a positive answer.
