How come CAB never go after travellers?

We always hear of the criminal assets bureau hunting down drug criminals and the likes but never travellers who flaunt their wealth without a care in the world?
No job no tax being paid but yet big houses and new vans/jeeps and cab dont care? Am i missing something here?

I am guessing you are probably right.

Buying 80,000 euro jeeps and big houses with cash is big enough to warrant a visit from cab surely??? I cant put 3,000 euro into the credit union without being asked where it came from.

I agree that the ethnic status thing is a joke, but the claim that the CAB don't 'go after' Travellers has already been disproven, no?

Maybe they do on a small scale but i have never seen evidence in my area of it in the 28 and half years of my life. I pass houses fit for kings on the way to and from work as they collect their dole in porsche cayennes?

Means testing is a joke. They look at 1 bank account statement (you could have many accounts), and you tell them what is the legit income of the people you live with.

Pretty sure you can ask the question. Inconveniently for those who wish to believe that Travellers are somehow immune from the Criminal Assets Bureau, the question has been answered and shown to be invalid.

CAB has been targeting Traveller criminals with some success notably the Rathkeale(Rhino horn) mob and previously, "Fat" Andy Connors, the leader of the country's most prolific gang of armed robbers who was subsequently shot dead by a rival faction.

Rathkeale co limerick there are drive around brand new English 2017 reg porsche cars bentleys cars rolls royce cars mercedes cars range rovers jeeps the lot the are super Wealthy rich people money the cars there at xmas you would not see the likes of it any where in europe I have been there a few times the graveyard in Rathkeale co limerick the headstones the must have cost up to 100000 euros each and more why do all the rich travellers go there what is the story is the holy land for them i would love to know now get back to paying tax why would the want to that and give there hard cash to the likes of TD Willie o Dea , TD Joan burton TD Michael Lowry,TD Bertie Ahern etc why would you want give your money to them because if the did the would be like most people of Ireland broke there sticking there two fingers up the government and I say well done boys .

How come CAB don't go after Nigerians?

Some of them pull money scams, so racial profiling should be allowed for black people and Africans.

How come they don't round up the Irish in the UK? Everyone know we're just drunker brawlers who fiddle benefits.

I know of 1 case from the early 2000s when CAB seized €1.5 million from three Travellers.
I had the unfortunate case of actually knowing them, and they were from the southwest. I got a warning for telling this story on a different forum on boards before, as it was called Traveller bashing, even when though it actually happened.
Many years ago when I was more naive, much younger and far less cynical, I let my good heart give these three guys a chance. I gave them some work to fix and replace some shutes on the house. Price agreed, job was done, then they wanted several times the agreed price, became threatening and intimidating, this was a time before I had a mobile phone. I gave them a small bit over the agreed price to get rid of them as they did not want to leave, told them I would have the rest in a few days. A couple of days later they rang looking for the money, I told them they were not getting anymore. They said they would return and remove the materials, I said 'fine, go ahead, but I will have the Gardai here watching you stealing from me'. I was then told 'go into Kilkenny and hang yourself off John's bridge', he then immediately hung up after saying that. They were not nice people...
Valuable lesson learned, enjoyed being told to kill myself as I knew it was then saying 'They would not be back' which they weren't, but a couple of years later, I was bringing the Sunday paper home to my elderly neighbour, had a read before giving it to her, and here I see the three had assets seized by CAB, one had €600k, the other €500k and the 3rd €400k worth of assets seized.
I was delighted for them, I knew they got some form of justice.
So CAB do seize assets from Travellers, as they would from the settled community.
