Lambs (well, hoggets now) going into grass - first time they've seen grass in a while

Not sure how we'll do for grass for the next few weeks, will be tight I'd say, but they needed to be out of their winter grazing by 1st March...

That corner is the best to be honest Ganmo - if you look at the top left of the photo, the other side of the field is yellow-ish enough then...
There's about 3.5 acres in that field, and I'd say only about 2 acres of good grass...

Was only reclaimed last year, so there would want to be good grass on it too...

How much would sheep hurdles be ?? 5ft ones, we need to make a few more pens for sheep. The last one we bought were from travelling sales men and to be fair they are last away.

At a guess about 25 - 30 euro + VAT, so 30 - 35euro a piece?

Probably haven't as much wool as yours....mine were shorn at the end of August

No, but now you mention it, they kinda look abit alright, my xbreed store rams lambs, broke in a few day early last year and left them behind.

Great pics David, good setup...

Outdoor pens - would the straw would go to **** in no time outside? Like, a few showers, and would it not be fierce cold to lie on?
Or are they very much a few hour job (if dry) and then out to the field?

Like you said it's basically down to the weather. If it is dry and sunny like the last few days the outdoor pens are used, we don't want to over use the indoor pens. But its mainly singles in these pens so they go into those pens for a few hours and then out to grass
