U21's "starting 15" for tonights game down in Mullingar - match is in St. Lomans not Cusack for anyone travelling. The weather and a few of our young lads doing a refs course in Brigids has made my decision for me. Seems a relatively strong team, would wonder at Cons inclusion and also Paddy Smalls exclusion

That team wont start. Dessie always names a dummy team. I'd rather if Con was left off team and concentrate on club. I heard Paddy Small pulled his hammer and is out.

That would make sense @ Small being injured. A few interesting positional changes with O'Shea going from the HF line into FB and O'Reilly from HB into the HF line, but as you say you don't know until they trot out later this evening what's what. Good to see Brian Howard continue his development, got a look in for the OBC and has the potential to really push on now.

The one surprising thing to me is that there's no Castleknock lads involved, could be that there's no one eligible I suppose....

Comfortable night for U21's winning 2-14 to 0-6, Aaron Byrne with the 2 goals and they'd enough chances for another 2-3. Longford in 2 weeks time in semi final

You could've dropped over to Abbotstown to see for yourself BD ..

there's encouraging signs that the wee county boys are beginning to see an upturn in their fortunes thru the grades. Colm Nally who led Colmcilles to the IFC club final is involved in the senior set up too and may have brought an extra dimension to them.

Then again, with respect to Wicklow - it's a long time since any win was benchmarked against them, with the possible exclusion of coming out of a hurling game in Aughrim with a win and all your body parts intact

Were beaten by Kildare there in 1976 Leinster SHC quarter final. I was there...

It is noticeable how many Dubs seem to have a strong personal dislike for Aidan O'Shea. I cant really get my head around it. He hasn't done a lot of damage against Dublin, or hasn't gone knocking lumps out of a Dublin player, it just seems to be a entirely personal thing. It's quite strange.

I don't hate Diarmuid Connolly or Philly McMahon.Top top players,they have had their disciplinary issues on field.Ditto Lee Keegan and many other inter county players.I dislike those guys for seventy minutes when they're damaging our All Ireland prospects on field.

Once the game is over,sin é.But the vile hatred and animosity shown towards amateur inter county players of all ilk purely on the basis of unspecified personal beliefs of what type of character said players are/physical traits they possess is over the top and unfair in the extreme.It certainly isn't what the GAA is all about.

Hope we've another cracking contest on Saturday night.

Seligehgit - They are indeed very noble sentiments. However, you can not have failed to notice that the words "scumbag" and "knacker" are tossed around more in the Mayo thread, than in all the other threads put together. Just to choose a couple of choice examples, that seem to be the most popular, with certain breeds of Mayo posters, when discussing certain Dublin players.

Perhaps your words of wisdom might be more appropriate over there.....than here, where harmless jokes about the bould Aido, marine mammals and various water based diving sports, have been very popular since....oh...about 4.35pm on the 9th of July 2016. No offence intended.

(Unless of course, you're from Fermanagh, then all bets are off.

I don't mind o'shea at all, bit of a mickey dazzler but good luck to him

I do enjoy seeing sour power scorpy balls o'connor being thwarted despite his constant diving though

Jaysis Bambi that one takes me back - it's in the same bracket as when all the young fellas brought their ball for a game in the hope that your one would be the one picked ... and we always chose the ball with "the best doosh"

Edit .. FWIW AOS is in the hapenny place to O'Connor or Donaghy in a charm contest on a football field, but I would admit to having a respect for what Donaghy has achieved

Never had much time for Donaghy however after reading his book and listening to his various interviews prior to Chtistmas he is a different person compared to the player we see in a Kerry jersey.
Still can't warm to O Connor however.

Star is sound chap once game is over by all accounts! I once asked a recently retired Dub about him and he had height of praise for him. Completely gracious in victory or defeat. Other chap referred..., not so much
