Bigger volume glove means more surface area to connect with, and they aren't pillow like when they land. They won't slip or slide near as much as the smaller MMA gloves.

This is actually a dangerous scenario to be allowing a complete nobody boxer into the ring with an experienced professional. It's not tiddlywinks. Has Conor got nobody to advise him of the dangers? Mayweather may not be Julian Jackson as regards one shot power, but the facts remain that it doesn't take all that much force to cause injury or worse in a boxing ring. Yep 40 year old midget with broken hands is gonna hurt someone who takes shots and never been dropped with 4oz gloves lol.

He doesn't need you to pretend that boxing gloves are an offensive advantage. The tactical advantages of gloves is defence. Harder to get through, easier to block. Look at John Wayne Parr's caged muay Thai vrs trad Muay Thai

Bottom line: Complete non boxer meets skilled experienced boxer, expect the real probability of serious injury. The fact that it's a pot shotting Mayweather is irrelevant. He will still land consistently and with accuracy, and enough force to be dangerous.
