Tralee , on a brighter note !
I recently visited Tralee and was amazed at the scenery there. My visit was in early January when the weather was unseasonably bright, mild and sunny. What a stunning place. Fenit was perhaps my favourite , with wonderful walks, stunning views of the of the ocean with the beautiful Dingle Peninsula as a backdrop , and of course not forgetting the magnificent lighthouse. This all forms part of the Wild Atlantic Way.It was also birthplace of St. Brendan the Navigator. I would encourage people from home or abroad to pay this wonderful place a visit.

With Five Weeks To Go, Tralee Is Booked Out For Dubs Game

WHATEVER about the Kerry v Mayo clash on Saturday, it seems a Dublin invasion is on the cards for St Patrick’s weekend.

With over five weeks to go to the match, there isn’t a hotel bed to be had in town on Saturday, March 18 and you’ll be hard pressed to find a B&B vacancy.

A search on booking.com for all accommodation in town reveals there is no bed in Tralee on the night of the match and all the hotels’ own websites booking services confirms this.

The combination of St Patrick’s festivities, the Tralee Marathon and the match is going to make for a massive weekend for the town, providing a great economic boost for pubs and restaurants.
There is reportedly massive interest in the game among Dublin supporters – who are also snapping up beds in Killarney – so expect a sellout and a ticket scramble for what should be the best atmosphere ever at a game in Tralee.

Meanwhile, the Mayo team won’t bring as many supporters, but Austin Stack Park is ready to welcome a huge crowd for Saturday night football to Tralee.

The match has a 7pm throw-in time but stiles will open at 5pm. Admission is €15 (usual concession for Students and OAPs applies, under 16s go free) and entry to the Stand will be on a first come first served basis.

Tickets have to be pre-purchased either in advance or from the ticket vans positioned outside the ground. They can also be purchased in advance (20% off the adult admission price up to 12 midnight on Friday night) at all the usual outlets including participating Supervalu and Centra Stores throughout the Country including all Garveys Supervalu Stores, at GAA.ie and at the Kerry GAA Store in the Outlet Centre Killarney and the Pavilion in Austin Stack Park Tralee. Tickets may be purchased on-line right up to match time.

Kerry County Council have offered Free Parking in the Car Park adjacent to The Rose Hotel, Dan Spring Road, which is walking distance of the venue. Patrons travelling to Austin Stack Park Tralee for the event are advised to arrive early as a large crowd is expected.

Guy I normally use Richard Kelter isn't available. He mentioned something about hm television services or something like that. Anyone know of them as Google provided nothing . TIA Huns....

Ah yes, Tralee Do You Know. The place where if you ask for someone for a job a load of people come out of the woodwork to tell you their dodgy relative is the best in town.

Was in the Sportsfield last night, for about an hour after the match you couldn't move in there, great atmosphere.

Heard town was hopping Saturday night,hopefully now the powers that be dont get put off by the crowd that is coming for the Dubs game and move it to Killarney

Rumour going around town today is that this is exactly what might happen as apparently the ground was near full for the Mayo game.

Contract signed for €1.7 million Tralee Town Centre works

A contract has been signed for the €1.7 million Tralee Town Centre improvement works.

Kildare based contractor John Craddock Ltd has been appointed to carry out the developments, which are expected to be completed by November.

These works will see Denny Street converted to a two-way traffic system, and a shared space created on the Mall.

The Tralee Town Centre improvement works are part of the Active Travel Town initiative and are funded by the Department of Transport and Kerry County Council.

John Craddock Ltd, a Kildare based contractor, has signed the contract worth €1.7 million; his company previously completed the improvements to the Town Square.

He said the aim of his staff will be to complete the works to the highest standard, and to work with the town centre businesses to keep Tralee open for business.

The works will start in the coming days, are expected to finish in November.

The main changes will be the conversion of Denny Street to two-way traffic, and the introduction of a more pedestrian-friendly shared space on the Mall from the Carraig Donn entrance into the Square as far as the junction of the Mall and Denny Street.

When, what game? Only reason I remember a game being changed to Killarney was cos of the pitch is ASP.

It's live on Eir sport. They don't have rights to Sunday games so it CANT be changed to Sunday.
