Not a hope in hell would you ever get a 50% uptake on a subscription. If it were that easy, all podcasts would be doing it. That would be €1.2million a year for a relatively niche Irish sports podcast. A 5-10% uptake would be impressive. (Which to be fair would still net each of them in the region of €1500 a month assuming the IT takes a cut, which isn't to be sniffed at)
