Could Madeleine McCann still be found?

It's nearly 10 years since Madeleine disappeared... According to this article, investigators involved in the case, are working on an " “important” new tip."

Considering the amount of time that has passed, what's the likelihood that she'll be found?

Sure they dropped off the other 2 kids at the creche the day after the disappearance (or possibly the second day after). Was it to join the desperate hunt for their missing kid? Nope, it was to go jogging. *mind boggles*

Potentially, they didn't bank on their being such a huge media interest in the first place...but once it was clear there was they decided to run with it...one possible theory, don't know if true or not.

Didn't think the jogging was that odd-people can do strange things at these times

I think kidnapping is the most likely scenario.I don't think it likely the parents could have covered up death and disposal of body

Yes but when a baby is taken from a hospital it is more likely to be a delusional mother intending to bring the baby up as their own.

I doubt that possibility exists in the case of poor Madeleine. I think the McCanns made a huge mistake and have gone to enormous efforts ever since to cover it up, perhaps to avoid jail time or to avoid losing their other children. A more pessimistic view would be that they (and their friends) colluded to protect their own careers and future earning potential.

Either way Gerry is cold and Kate unconvincing.

I thought the same but Erica Parsons adoptive parents did the same thing, even on the Dr. Phil show, and they were guilty as hell.

It's suspected that she was snatched by a German/Belgium gang and used to blackmail peedo politicians. WhenKate found out she was missing she shouted 'They've taken her'! It would be interesting to know whom she meant by 'They've.

To be honest, I think the opposite. The whole narrative behind the parents' possible culpability owed itself to the fact they were smart enough and savvy enough to maintain a cold innocent composure to cover themselves. The psychoanalysis of their demeanour, manner of speaking, their publicity campaign fuelled the suspicion.

The tabloids wouldn't break down the behaviour of other lower classes to such a degree.

You'd have to be absolutely sick to keep that charade going for that long....all in the name of money.

That's why I always thought the suspicion towards the McCanns was absolutely ludicrous. A normal person would have cracked a long time ago.

Not to mention you're dealing with the unlikely odds that not only would one be as sick as the other but that they were equally capable of maintaining normality after all this time.

I read a lot into this and all the evidence
On that Madeline file website a few years ago.
I am convinced they killed her.
They were definatley sedating her and I think she passed away while sedated that night and they tried to cover it.
Gerry is probably the driver behind the cover up and his wife followed.
Just their demeanour in interviews and stuff doesn't sit right with me.
I don't think Kate is the bad person here ,
I think he is.

I can't really remember specifics now, but the night before didn't the upstairs resident say she could hear a child crying for mammy and daddy for a good while.
How the hell you could leave a child like that is beyond me.

The next night they sedated her and the rest followed.
The cadaver dog signalling in the hire car also.

I think the overdose is the most plausible explanation.

Coincidentally I happen to be watching last years season 2 The Missing by the BBC, if only we had someone like Julien Baptiste on the scene. A great series, although depressing, but I figure the McCann case influenced the making of this programme as with RTE's Amber.

It is well possible that the little girl was abducted by a pedophile, probably a local: horridly misused, and dead within 48 hours or less.

Why would anyone think different? Did the misguided parents have either means, motive or opportunity? Who can dispose of a dead body in a foreign country and go completely undetected?
(I've always thought that dropping a child's body into the sea off a sailboat a few miles offshore, seemed the most reliable way to escape detection.)
Have the parents any motive? There was no history of violence.
I mean, practically speaking, if you think the parents were guilty, how was it done - where, when, why, with what, and how hidden?

That dude in the U.K. Was on the news with his wife crying about the kids he burned down.

You never know what's going on behind closed doors, or what people are really like.

Not that I am that familiar with the case or anything, but do people have genuine reasons to suspect the parents that aren't tabloidy/a man down the pub said/a random website said type of thing? People take a perverse delight in assuming the worst of people.

If you researched the case, there are plenty of logical reasons as to why people suspect them. I am not saying they did or didn't but you will be unpleasantly surprised as to how you may feel after reading about it. Plenty of posts on the thread will also help you in that regard.

i just find it hard to believe with all the media attention that nobody would have seen the parents disposing of the body IF they did it.

assuming they are innocent (which i lean towards), it must be a double whammy having your child disappear and THEN everyone slyly whispering that it was you who done it

Well 2 police forces from 2 different jurisdictions have spent 10 years investigating this case and have found no evidence of any of your allegations but don't let that stop you from your wild baseless speculation
