Could Madeleine McCann still be found?

It's nearly 10 years since Madeleine disappeared... According to this article, investigators involved in the case, are working on an " “important” new tip."

Considering the amount of time that has passed, what's the likelihood that she'll be found?

The first story I heard from a journalist friend when the story broke was the parents done it. The kids were giving sleeping sedatives so they wouldn't wake up while the parents were out.
I've kinda believed that's what happened all along since as I can't understand why you would go out leaving 2 normal kids alone it just doesn't make sense as there capable of anything.

Maybe someone here will blow that story out of the water for me.

I think it's doubtful but stranger things have happened.

However - let's just say that she was found alive and well.
I would imagine she would barely remember her previous life now. She would likely speak another language and have lived a life completely different to her siblings in England.

So how would that work, the police just whisk her away back to England and return her to her parents that she doesn't know anymore?

I don't think we'll ever know what happened to the poor girl and if her parents are the culprits.
I tend to think they're not, they made a huge mistake in leaving her so did indeed play a part and are guilty in that sense. But I don't think they killed her.

I think chances of finding a missing child after 48 hours is something like 90% less..so Id say poor Madeleines chances of being found safe and well are pretty close to zero

There was an 18 year old recently found in the US wasn't there? So nothing is beyond the realms of possibility I suppose.

I always had my doubts about the parents but I would never say 100% that someone is dead without proof.

It was all over the news a couple of weeks ago about a girl who was stolen as a baby been found after 18 years. So yes there is still hope for that poor child. Just hope she is ok.

As soon as it blew up as international news, any would-be kidnapper would have killed and disposed of her straight away, as horrible as that sounds.

As sad as it is, I honestly believe the poor little thing was gone not long after she was taken.

I highly she'll be found at this stage, although as others have said stranger things have happened.

Imagine if her mum and dad worked in a supermarket and factory, rather than being doctors. Do you think people would still say it was a mistake to leave the kids alone so they could go out with friends? Or would they just be called negligent parents who valued going on the piss with friends more than their kids safety? Not judging, just curious.......

With the amount of time that she has been missing for and no definite sighting of her in that time, it doesn't look like she will ever be found alive, sadly. Like most here I sure would love if I was wrong.

I remember the Europa League final a few years ago and the camera focused on a little girl in the crowd who looked very like Madeline. People were going a bit mad online over it. The game featured Benfica which would lend credence to the Portuguese connection and there was a striking resemblance.

Madeline is not that distinctive looking apart form the eye colour, Ive seen probably hundreds of little girls who could pass for her throughout europe
And I know the girl is looking upwards which exposes the nostrils a bit more but her nose looks a lot more upturned than madeleines

Ask any parent do they think the kids were old enough to be left alone, I think you'll get pretty unanimous answers.

There occupation is irrelevant but they would know about drugs and dosages which makes the story I was told that bit more believable.

It is not irrelevant, apart from the fact that the story would not be nearly as well known if they were a lower class family, the parents would have been seen in a much more different and guiltier light than Madelines parent's were, regardless of what police would have told the public I think most people would automatically assume it was gross negligence and manslughter if jacinta and anto had drugged their daughter before going out with their mates

You do realise you were just told a story don't you? Your journalist friend doesn't know anymore than anyone else, they're just putting 2 and 2 together and forming their own opinions.
