British Dad wakes up speaking with a Polish accent and a craving for Swans after inju

Mad stuff,

A British dad-of-two has been told to "go back to where he came from" after an industrial brain injury left him speaking with a Polish accent.
Robert Paling, 37, was left with brain damage after he was exposed to dangerous levels of carbon monoxide in a "catastrophic" accident.

This means he now suffers from foreign accent syndrome with broken speech and a Polish accent.
Robert, from Hull, said: "It's been very upsetting. Some people have told me to go back to where I come from."

this actually sounds a bit strange, speaking with a a polish accent but there's definitely some crazy stuff possible involving some specific brain damages after accidents.
I once read an article from a reputable newspaper and there was a guy who had some injuries from rolling down a grasshill or something, got unconscious and woke up being gay. there were some other strange things going on with him but just remember him waking up being gay because he was completely heterosexual before the accident.

People have been known to develop a different accent after brain injuries/migraines/surgeries, but research shows it's more likely a speech impediment that sounds like another accent to listeners. Like if an Irish person suddenly couldn't pronounce Rs the way we do and the way they said their vowels changed, they might sound vaguely English to us.

I've never noticed Polish people having a distinctive accent. If they have it is a pleasant accent.

I was knocked down when I was 19 and suffered a brain injury that has left me with no recollection of the two years prior to that. I've no recollection of doing my leaving cert or any event that took place from 17-19 :pac:
