What is something considered outdated that you still use??

I got the piss ripped out of me today for having an old iPod from 2002/3 still on the go, using it regularly in the kitchen or in the car.
My brother still uses vhs to tape the soccer highlights.

Have a creative zen mp3 player from around the same time. Awesome battery life and an SD slot. Funny when people press the icons on a non-touch screen device!

I use an old Nokia (seems a good few others do too) most of the time rather than take my distracting smartphone everywhere.

I've a small old wind up alarm clock complete with bells on top that I take travelling with me. It's got a very luminous dial and I can see the time instantly if I wake during the night, and it's louder than any other clock I've ever owned, and I never have to worry about the batteries dying.

I have an old Samsung mp3 player at least ten years old, with a whole 2gb of storage, that I have connected to a speaker in my office - via an aux cable, no bluetooth - and it sounds better than anything I've had since.

I use a 50 year old split cane fly fishing rod from time to time. It's not as easy to use as my newer carbon rods but still catches decent trout.

I still use an 80GB iPod from 2006 regularly. I gave it a new lease of life a few years ago when I replaced Apple's horrible firmware with Rockbox software. Music still sounds better on it than any smartphone I've had, and the battery is still decent too.

Up until May last year I drove a car which had a cassette deck. I mostly used a cassette adapter with it but I would play the odd tape occasionally. I kept a few tapes by The Fall and a drum & bass compilation in my car to play.

Also CDs can be considered outdated now. I still pick them up regularly, mostly second hand ones for only a few euro but some new releases too. Vinyl is good and everything but they are gone too expensive. I still prefer CDs as my physical medium of choice as they are cheaper and less hassle.

My parents still use a fridge and a hoover from 1970.

I use a stereo system from 1999. It has a radio, 3cd changer, double tape deck and minidisc player. It's the main way I listen to music in the house. I have an ipod Touch from 2007 but never use it. It's still in perfect working order though.

An iPod from 2006 and a portable tv with a built in DVD player that I bought in 2003. I have it in my bedroom if I want to watch a movie although I think it has just about had it now because it was making a dodgy sound the last time it was on.

Good idea, as it is very wasteful to throw out things when just a small part could fix them.

Mp3 player. Even though it would be handier and auto download my podcasts, I won't use a phone for it. I still download the files and transfer it to my mp3 player. That's really backwards in 2017. It is a smaller lighter device to have on you running though, so that's my excuse.

Also, as many others have said, anonymous forums like this. A friend who's 31 was showing me something on facebook a while back and I brought up something I read on boards. She had'nt heard of it. When I showed her After Hours and a couple of threads her response was;

Apart from the odd sporting event I haven't watched regular TV in about 4 years. Large HD PC monitors and streaming is the way to go.

Yes it is! Great sound quality and still working perfectly so haven't felt the need to get rid.

I use an old-style leather-wrapped field notebook and a proper old Waterman pen for notes when I'm away working. I've a thing for leather bound notebooks and decent pens.

It's not outdated - it's retro!

On a similar note, I've a hand knitted blanket on the back of my sofa that my grandmother knitted long before I was born. Lovely and cosy it is too.
