My hero's are the voluntary home carers that give up their own lives to care for those in their family unable to look after themselves, and the disabled people that struggle 24/7/365 for their entire life to live as best they can despite their disability. Still-living people who have meant a lot to me at stages in my life...hmmm...

In sport, Roberto Duran was a huge hero of mine growing up, and when I did amateur boxing, I ended up boxing like him.

In film, Woody Allen and Martin Scorsese are two directors I really admire and think write great films.

In music, Springsteen and Tom Waits were the soundtrack to a large chunk of my life - they should have at least another decade left in them.

In literature, J.M. Coetzee - made me think more than any other writer I've ever read.
