Looking on Glanbia connect there, even without any autumn calvers I'm still going to oversupply my Dec liquid contract by 13kl (by more than double). I still need a hell of a lot of work on the 6week calving rate, much more scope for more Feb calvers who would all be dry for Dec. Not the worst complaint I'll admit, will still be a tidy enough Dec milkcheque, and cows still doing 8.15% solids so will hopefully still get mid 30s net price.

Will be ringing to book the umbilical for the 12th, hopefully I'll be able to get him to come this way first. Will floor everything and cover as much ground as possible weather/ ground conditions permitting. Will be transfering slurry to the tower in the next few days and wikk give the the big concrete tank a stir as well. Feb will be likely turnout. Haven't walked farm yet but covers seem green enough if a bit on the low side.

Did a walk yesterday and covers much better than you'd expect. First paddocks 1500

Good idea, prb book mine also, but just a tanker not worth getting the umbilical, only 4ft in the tank. Last year I was forced to suck a load a day out from Jan 12th on with my little 1100gls yoke, until I risked it late feb with the contractor, he ploughed up the place and got stuck afew times. What a difference a year makes ha, but I'll take my chances the 12th if I can at all.

Milked once on Christmas day. Cost .1l/cow over three day collection. Nicely surprised, I thought we'd take a bigger hit.

99% sure I'm off skiing mid jan, my 2 main milkers are back in school then, so the cows going OAD and only be milked the evening.

Lovely sight here this morning when I looked down into the paddocks beside the house 40 suckler cows running around munching away on a lovely 1000 cover, local beef/tillage baron took ground beside us and set kale but didn't bother with throwing up any fencing, I just love guys who reckon my fences should be keeping out their stock from my fields

6 cows and 4 heifers bulling in the last 2 days. Didn't get any straws b4 xmas in order to keep disciplined to the Jan start date, if I had em they'd be served. Feck all come in for the first 2 weeks of Jan now ha

Waiting on vet for a cow with bad mastitis. Always get one at this time of year
