You just need to grab a few APKs from the web using the stock silk browser. First grab a free file manager from the Amazon app store - just search for FILE MANAGER (I took the first one found, File Commander). Then, through the Silk Browser navigate to the following links and download the 4 files. You will need to enable installation from unknown sources in settings. You will be prompted once you try to download the first of the .apks so just turn on the setting. I downloaded them all then went into the file manager, into downloads and then installed the 4 files in order. 5 mins later, the Play store icon will be on the bottom of your apps list. As she doesn't have a gmail or amazon account I would like to set these up for her, register the amazon fire 7 and side load google play store in advance of giving it to her. Is it possible to set up a gmail account without providing her mobile number so as not to alert my sister to what I am doing and add the mobile number to her profile in a few days time. Or is it impossible to set up a gmail account without text verification? Thanks

Soarer wrote: » Regarding removal of ads.....You're now connected to Theoreen from Amazon.co.ukTheoreen: :-) Hello my name is Theoreen. Thank you for contacting Amazon.co.uk Kindle chat support. How may I help? Am I chatting with Soarer?Me: Yeah. Good evening Theoreen, and I'm sorry for contacting you so close to Christmas! I've recently purchased 2 Kindle Fires for my two sons, and I'm in the process of setting them up "for Santa"! I can't turn off the ads on the lock screen though. Can you tell me where the setting is? I really don't think they need to be looking at ads on a present from Santa!Theoreen: Hi there Soarer. I am sorry for the inconvenience with the adverts. You can unsubscribe your Kindle from Special Offers through Manage Your Content and Devices ( www.amazon.co.uk/mycd ). Amazon is able to offer Kindle models at a subsidised price by delivering Special Offers and Sponsored Screensavers. If you originally purchased a Kindle Special Offer Device you will be charged a one-time payment to unsubscribe from this service. To unsubscribe your Kindle device from Special Offers: 1. Locate your Kindle in the Your Devices tab of the Manage Your Content and Devices page. 2. Click Edit next to Special Offers. 3. Follow the instructions to unsubscribe from Special Offers. 4. The next time you connect your Kindle device wirelessly, your device will be unsubscribed from Special Offers.Me: So I have to pay to get them removed?Theoreen: That is correct. The reason there is a £10.00 charge to have the offers removed is because the kindles with the special offers subscription are sold at a £10.00 discount.Me: I bought these Kindles locally, and there is nothing on the box that mentions ads, or having to pay to remove them.Theoreen: Okay, the website does show that there are devices with and without the special offers subscription and specifically states that Special offers and sponsored screensavers display when your device is in sleep mode. The store should have informed you of this. However, I will check regarding the offers for you, bear with me please.Me: Thank you.Theoreen: Thanks for waiting. As a one time exception, I have cancelled the subscription for you and waive the charge as I do understand that you were not informed. Please stay connected to wireless to complete the process and Merry Christmas.Me: Is this on both Kindles?Theoreen: That is correct.Me: That is excellent! Thanks a million!Theoreen: You're welcome :-). Is there anything else you would like me to assist you with before we go?Me: No, that's perfect. Merry Christmas to you and yours!Theoreen: :-) Thank you for contacting Amazon. It has been my utmost pleasure assisting you. To close this window, please click on the “End chat” button at the upper right corner of this window. Have a Good Evening. Ads were gone instantly!Merry Christmas!
