The Restaurant Recommendation Thread

There's been a crazy number of threads recently looking for restaurant recommendations, so I'd like to start a specific thread for it. Please post below about your favourite restaurants - why you like them, what price range they are, what type of food they serve, if they have an early bird, opening hours if you know them, where they're located. If you could include a link to the website, that would be great. The more details, the better. This is not a thread to post negative reviews - there's a thread in the main Food & Drink forum for that if you like. Basically, I want this thread to be full of recommendations, not positive and negative reviews. That being said, you can disagree with a recommendation briefly if you really feel the need to, but you must have a really valid reason such as an awful experience, rather than "I don't really like the food" or "It's too expensive".

That was the people from the restaurant where Amicus is now.. what was that called again?

God bless the Gingerbread House. It was a great spot. They had lovely homemade lemonade.

They didn't in the past, but they may have changed that of course. Wouldn't say it's likely as the place doesn't look much bigger than what it was in the photo.

Feckin nora elbow lane is popular. Walked in at 6:30 this evening (a wednesday) and was told next table available at 8:30. Bit late for us, but must try earlier next time.

We went in at half five and we had to wait an hour for a table. Worth it, it was the best meal I've had in there. Absolutely jammed too.

Aroi (previously on Carey's Lane) have announced on their social media that they're no longer re-opening. Disappointing as they've been on about it for about a year.
Had a nice meal in there the one time I went, one of the better of those countless Asian street food joints. Wonder what the reason they're staying closed is? Didn't their owner pass away recently?

Went to Thali again - the Nepalese place on Pope's Quay.
It's really very good, really fresh tasting and quite different to an Indian restaurant though the menu reads similarly.

They don't seem to have gathered much of a following as of yet so plenty of availability at this time of the year.

I really would urge people to give it a go. I'd like it to survive.

My mam is working with the owners wife so I have tried it. Really nice and different. My wife is a big fan of it and its very reasonably priced.

Indian food to me feels greasy, this tastes much cleaner and fresher.

Was down in the Fran well recently and thought Popes Quay looked really vibrant - Bierhaus and a few food spots doing a decent trade - was surprised due to it being a bit out, must get over that side of town again & try Thali as per the recommendation

Iyer's, Myo coffee shop, Thali, Bierhaus Friary bar (not quite Pope's Quay but close) and Fran Well if you keep going.
A connoisseur's part of town!

There's an Asian street food place in Killarney that is very similar to Aroi. Was so disappointed when I saw that aroi wouldn't be opening back up.

I went there last week and really liked it. Service was impeccable and the food was good, especially the Nepalese dumplings that comes with a nice, spicy dipping sauce. Yum!

What else do you recommend from there? I had a look at the menu and also had a nosey peek in the window at what people were eating and it just looked like Indian food.
