Johnboy1951 wrote: » I expect the figure to be about 80k by end March. I hope they get closer than that to the 100k target. Remember they have the bulk of the preparation work done on a large number of areas, and the stringing out of the fibre is probably the fastest part of the operation overall.

Johnboy1951 wrote: » I have no idea what "everything suggests they haven't a hope" means. You can interpret events as you wish, but obviously I interpret things a lot differently. I do not expect eir, as I have previously said, to meet their 100k target, but I do expect them to get the bulk done by end of March. I do expect them to reach their 300k target at the end of 2018. I see nothing so far that indicates they are not doing this as fast as they can, so the will to reach their target is there. They have the best of reasons for doing this ...... commercial reasons ..... which will push them to do so. How they organise what they are doing might not suit a lot of people posting on this thread, but that does not influence anything, except maybe others' opinions. You can be sure eir are organising things to suit the job at hand and the available staff etc etc etc. Their planners have estimated the roll out times. Those people are highly paid professionals with access to information that no one on this thread has admitted to having access to. I therefore believe those eir employees actually know what they are doing. Allowing for unforeseen factors in the 100k estimated time, I would be happy if they make 80k, and there should be no to few unforeseen factors to delay the rest of the roll out so I expect the 300k target to be met or very close to it. The end of March estimate should provide us with some solid figures to base an opinion on, and I will definitely change mine if they fail badly to meet the target.
