Detailing chat

Hi I've been thinking it'd be nice to have a thread where simple questions that people don't want to create a thread for, could go. Or any chat related to detailing.

I've a question. If I've put a wax on, then a sealant. Then after a few weeks or w/e I'm thinking the shine isn't what it was. (After washing obviously) Can I apply wax on top of whatever sealant and wax is left from the first time, or do I have to remove the remaining sealant + wax first?

I use Kleen Freaks Shampoo Plus . I find it great. My car is sealed with Kleen Freaks Liquid Wax and Spray Coat.

Other brands worth looking at;
ODK Jet Shampoo
Bilt Hamber Auto Wash (used it previously great product but small quantity turned me off)

Dont let the small size put you off!!
5ml per 20l is a lot less than you'd use with other shampoos!

300ml bottle versus 500ml on average for other products, that require at least 15ml

Go into any pharmacy and ask for a 5 ml syringe.
Once you don't look like a junkie you'll be fine

Anybody (ahhhemmm Curran) know if the detailing shed buckets can have gamma seals fitted afterwards?

Honest answer is I dont know for sure - but looking at them, they look like they are a very similar size to the opening at the top of our buckets. If you can get the diameter of them. I can measure the DS buckets for you!

Pretty sure it's 12" in diameter

Its the smallest size it comes in.

It's about twice the price of most 500ml bottles of snowfoam for 10 times the solution...granted you have to use a little more in the bottle to achieve the maximum cleaning potential it offers.

I seen this going around the detailing facebook groups for 25 last night, which I highly assume was a misprice by a UK Website and wont be honoured.

I got the C120 over a year ago and I'm very happy with it, got a longer hose for the "gun" which was well worth it.

One for Curran,

Just been looking at wheel cleaning accessories on that detailshed place and wondering if one of them brush's/woolies is a skinny bugger, just on astra there is sod all room between my caliper and wheel on fronts and the ezee brush I have keeps getting stuck.

The smallest one would be slightly narrower, but the handle isn't too long.
Wash the car on a slight ramp. When doing the wheels do them, then let the car roll slightly and do the bit that was previously at the caliper!!

As if drive through car washes weren't bad enough the site I seen today was awful!

The guys continued to kick these around as they worked all they had keeping them wrapped up was a green net. Cannot for the life of me understand how people still use these!

Depends on how much work and how much you want to spend.

I have got a lot of great advice on here and some great products from detailingshed.com.

Collinite845 is nearly a must for top protection it is well worth the money and lasts up to 6 months maybe even more.

I got chemical guys backlight which gives a very nice pop to the paint especially for dark colours but fine on any.

If you have time the effort put in will show.

If its a new car it would be worth going for nano or cquartz or similar as the protection to the paint is amazing and from others on here that have it on would swear by it and dirt just flies of with hardly any effort.

I posted here a while ago about clay bars. I was stubborn and went against advice given about the 3m play doh sh1t! Anyway was in Halfords at the weekend and meguiars clay bar caught my eye. I stood there with thoughts rushing through my mind. In the end I bought it, Link now it was quite small, but hoping it was worth the money as I haven't used it yet. Now I was considering using water as a lube for the clay bar or am I better buying some sort of all surface kitchen cleaner?
