He was no politician years ago, he was a rich arrogant guy. He did not represent anyone but himself. So yes he did say and do a lot of things a president would not, but he wasn't answering to anyone back then or working for the people.

Mexico does not have a wall. They have border checkpoints with Guatemala, but nothing like Trump is wanting to build.

The Mexican people do want one, but this would be a wall that could be built together with the US, since many of the illegal immigrants from Guatemala, Salvadorans,... cross Mexico to head to the US, who then deport them back to Mexico.
