The only thing I remember from this event last year was what €20 of food got you and Sharon Ni Bheolains' interview of Daire Hickey. Did they get too big for the boots? I haven't heard a thing about it and this thread seems a lot quieter than last year.

The night of 9 to 10 November is the most expensive and one double room can reach on average 203 euros per night In the week before the event there is an increase in the average price of 68% (from 118 to 198 euros) and the following week, a decrease of 48% (from 198 to 102 euros)

Specifically, the Web Summit expects 53,056 people with general entries that have access to the four-day event (07-10 Nov), double the entries recorded in the Dublin event last year. Apart from these general entries are still expected 19,000 young people who have day tickets to the main stage. In total, the Web Summit expected to participate about 72 thousand people between entrepreneurs, startups, top investors and international journalists, since this Saturday began arriving in Lisbon for what is considered the largest global conference technology.

From my own experience (and lots of other traders I know) the Summit visitors took up hotel spaces that on the whole wouldn't spend a lot in the SME market. And the pubs aren't full of people that shouldn't be allowed in pubs too. As a business owner that sells to a transient crowd I'm happy to see it in another country.
