Official Conor McGregor thread (part 2). Read warning in 1st post

The last thread was nearing the 10k post limit so here's part 2.

The same rules as the last thread apply here. People seem to have strong opinions either way when it comes to McGregor and threads here tend to get a bit heated from time to time. Please keep it civil and discuss all things Conor in a mature way.
Any name-calling, trolling, baiting, or being a general ass-hat will earn you a ban from the thread and possibly the forum.

He will announce all of the below, in no particular order:

His semi-retirement. That he has broken up with Dee and is dating the model Mia Kang. Which is messy as Dee is pregnant with quadruplets and they are getting married. He's also signed to fight John Cena in the WWE which may clash with his mega-fight with Floyd Mayweather. He's ready to announce his own management company and, obviously, rolling out his Mac Life Training System - "How Not To Be a Bum". This is all in addition to the Hollywood movies he will be filming. Tom Egan was slated to be involved in a few of the above projects but they've fallen out over Egan preferring Battlefield over Call of Duty.

I do hope McGregor wins the fight. Although I do think Aldo's assertion that McGregor will be beltless by the end of the year will come true. I don't see McGregor ever going down to featherweight again, he has too much money and doesn't need to put his body through that. So if he loses against Alvarez I see him relinquishing the 145 belt too.

I'm not saying he has an iron chin, but it's definitely decent. He can take a shot. He fought 4 top lightweights and was dropped once to legkicks, albeit his opponents don't have hands like Conor but he certainly took massive shots from RDA who has legit power. I time-stamped the times he gets dropped or wobbled. Most of the times he was dropped were after throwing a punch. He leads with his head when punching so he's always open to clean counters.

I know Ward got a deal but that was off the back of McGregor.

Every SBG fighter who gets into the UFC will be "on the back of McGregor" - i mean that both metaphorically and literally.

Conor is proud that he's able to use some influence to get team-mates signed. Whether they deserve it or not is something they can only answer inside the Octagon themselves. At face value, Charlie's record would not normally be good enough to earn a UFC contract.

If you're looking for one name who is likely to get the call next it has to be John Phillips. The problem is the middleweight division is absolutely stacked in the UFC. I can see both sides of the coin here but i'm surprised Bellator haven't made a move for his signature.

There's many SBG products coming through the system. Dylan Tuke and Sinead Kavanagh will surely make a step-up in level in the next 12-24 months. Richie Smullen is quietly ticking away. Ryan Curtis is extremely promising and his striking can only keep improving with Roddy working with him daily. Peter Queally divides opinion in here but i think he's done enough to get a shot. Frans Mlambo, Kiefer Crosbie, Cian Cowley - i think they need a little bit more time and experience but they're 3 potentials.

I think some of these guys/girls may end up in Bellator the way the market is going. The UFC is the ultimate aim but Bellator have given James Gallagher a chance and the link-up with BAMMA indicates they're keeping a close eye on the UK/Ireland market.

So, to keep it short (not my style ha!), John Phillips and Peter Queally next and look for Sinead Kavanagh, Ryan Curtis and Dylan Tuke to be fighting in a bigger organisation before the end of 2017/early 2018.

I'd say Philips missing weight badly there a while ago will have been a blot on his copy book but his style is what they like decent record and ko after ko,there is some amount of bums in the UFC the level of the undercard fights is getting worse I think,

Cowleys had 1 mma fight hes a long term project,Kiefer is a good striker hes very kill or be killed kinda fighter has the talent needs to string it together,Tukes last performance was not himself never seen him as sloppy he showed some heart and good grappling to win fair play to him I hope it was a once off hes actually my favourite fighter to follow on the rise I like his attitude doesnt think hes flash with a 100 euro pair of gucci flip flops keeps it real,

Luke Jelcic might be an outside shout for a European show if he could string a few wins together too but if I'd to guess next one signed to fight would be Philips.

Yeah, i read somewhere the one thing that puts Sean Shelby off a fighter is a track-record of missing weight. And when you miss weight in spectacular fashion, it can't be good news. That was a really bad event for SBG with 3 missing weight, no idea what the issue was or whether it was just a coincidence.

It can happen to any fighter, obviously. Lockhart helped Queally get down to 155lbs which i thought would be a massive struggle but fair play.

If only they could persuade Lockhart to move to Ireland they'd be away in a hack! I really think he's overtaken Dolce as the go-to-guy.

Explain please. In Conor's UFC career he has been rocked once and he panicked because of it, I don't think Eddie at a weight that is better for McGregor will be able to hurt anywhere near as much. Plus, Conor is a counter-striker, perfect for someone like Eddie who bullrushes most of the time.

The bookies are favoring McGregor by Tko or Ko above all other odds in this fight. Has there ever been a draw in a fight of this size? I wonder would it suit the UFC if it were to happen.

A fighters opinion carries more weight if he has been inside the Octagon with someone. But it's still a guess, like all other predictions. MMA is a crazy sport. Not many saw Holly Holm taking out Ronda. And this is a lot closer contest than that one.

Really looking forward to this fight now that its creeping closer, I actually think it's going to be a close one to call. Alvarez really impressed me against RDA and RDA really impressed me in his last 3 fights. I don't think it was a bull rush either for the finish , he had RDA rocked and if you have him rocked you have to try and finish him you can't let him recover and come back at you and that's what Alvarez did he unleashed and put him away.

Mark Henry is a fantastic coach and they aren't going to play straight into Mcgegor , I think Eddie will pressure and push forward yes but it will be more controlled unless he sees a similar opportunity to the RDA fight.

For Conor , I think he turned a personal and professional corner during the first Diaz fight in that he realized that he can gas out , people can take his left hand and he cannot finish everybody he faces in 1-2 rounds. I think he wants Alvarez to believe that 'Mystic Mac will do him inside one' but this isn't actually the game plan , the game plan will be to frustrate Eddie and draw him on and look for the counter left when it becomes available to him...he also has a 4 inch reach advantage which is going to suit this down to the ground of stepping off and countering...Eddie has to come inside.

As said , very close but Mcgregor for me round 3/4
