WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 26, 2016 John Horgan Hurling A NUMBER of players who formed part of the Cork senior hurling team and squad this season have been omitted from the plans for the foreseeable future. Kieran Kingston’s management team are putting a strong emphasis on youth for the new season and, with that in mind, they have drawn up a preliminary squad that may be added to when the provincial club series comes to an end. Aidan Walsh has already stated his intention to concentrate on football next season, while William Egan, Will Leahy, Michael Russell, Niall Cashman and John Cronin have all been omitted. Daniel Kearney is also taking some time out while rehabbing from an injury, but he should be back in for the NHL. The management are keen to stress that the panel remains open-ended as they look to a number of very promising younger guns. Charleville’s Darragh Fitzgibbon, Kingston’s son Shane, Blarney’s Mark Coleman, the Rockies’ Michael O’Halloran and Shane O’Keeffe, Carrigaline’s David Griffin, Erins Own’s Robbie O’Flynn (above) and Jack Sheehan, Valley Rovers’ Chris O’Leary and Newcestown’s Luke Meade are all going to be on the training squad going forward. They will be joined by Michael Cahalane from Bandon (below) when their involvement in the Munster club IHC. The former dual minor hadn’t played in two seasons due to a medical issue until his return to club duties in recent months. However Ballyhea’s Pa O’Callaghan has declined an invitation to join the squad, preferring to concentrate on club matters. The powerful forward has excelled for Ballyhea on club duty and also showed up well for the Cork U21s in their defeat to Limerick last summer. The management are also believed to be interested in some players who are still involved with their clubs in the provincial club series and they will be monitored closely in those games over the coming weeks. The players are currently doing some pre-season preparatory work themselves but there will no official training until December 1, the official date for the county to return. No decision has yet been taken on whether or not the county will participate in the Munster League at the start of January. However, it is believed that they will participate in it before the commencement of the national league. Cork will have three home games in the secondary competition, Dublin, Clare and Tipperary while they will be away to Kilkenny and Waterford. There will be an obvious priority to win the first two home games against Clare, who will have a new management team in charge which includes former Cork star Donal Óg Cusack, and Ger Cunningham’s Dublin.

None of them know anything about it ! which is bizarre. Not sure if they'll be interested or not but they'd be the type of businesses who might buy. They should have been in contact with the Cork Chamber of Commerce and got a mailing list but obviously they haven't been. They'd want to make some announcement about concerts (which they probably won't) to sweeten the deal because being honest there's not going to be many top Inter county games there. The 10 Year tickets in Croke Park give you 1st dibs for any concerts which is obviously very attractive when he decide to go all mad and watch foreign entertainment (see T&C's)..T&C's: it's ok to watch foreigners as long as no sports are involved (*** expections include American football, soccer, boxing, Rugby World cup). If Beyonce is involved all foreigners stipulations are null and void
