RTE2 sees sport at the top with The Sunday Game Championship Draw 2017 on Thursday getting 148,000 and SSE Airtricity League Live with 105,000. After that all show drop below 100,000, same old repeats of Father Ted get 83,000 and 78,000 viewers with Can't Cope Won't Cope dropping to 69,000 viewers. Kevin McGahern's America had 60,000 viewers for its first show and its repeat.

TV3's coverage of X-Factor had between 68,000 viewers and 203,000 viewers. Living with Lucy had 138,000 viewers, PK Tonight had 130,000 viewers and Red Rock continued with 111,000. Gogglebox dropped to 99,000. Judge Judy remained steady with 76,000 beating TSOCS which didn't enter the top 20

ITV Soaps on UTV Ireland had between 178,000 and 306,000 viewers. everything else below 100,000. Cold Feet had 59,000 viewers at number 20.

Thanks Elmo. Really do like these tables.

3e share has been dismal so far. No month this year has been above the average of 2015. Their schedule is very uninspiring as well.

RTE2 has sunk very low too. The international matches this month should boost them up, but without the sport - they'd be in an awful bother.

I would assume ITV have a similar profile as BBC and Ch4.

I am surprised at how low their penetration is into the homes of Irish viewers.

We honestly do not know how low their audience is, you have to factor into account how many people have access to ITV channels, Sky customers may find going to other channels a hassle.

Channel 5, ITV, other UKTV channels, other Viacom channels, CBS branded channels and other Sky channels take up a good portion of that 30% other channels, and aslo BBC News and BBC 4. UTV and Channel 4 would have been defacto like BBC NI, lets hope UTV doesn't disappear.

The point I am making is that RTE 1 is by far the most watched channel in Ireland - by a long way.

I am quite surprised at that. RTE 1 has 20% and no other channel gets over 10%, and BBC 1 gets less that 4%, and is the leading BBC channel. Total Sky is less than 7%.

Why do people pay over €50 a month for such a pitiful amount of TV that is not available for free?

I understand the need some have to watch their favourite team play sport, but even that is expensive as they must pay for Sky Sport on top of the €50 per month. Some pay over €100 per month.

I just do not get it - (well actually I use Freesat so I do not get Sky - but I consider it pointless to pay for TV).

TV3 haven't ever really untilised there ITV programmes all that well. RTÉ ONE had the advantage of GAA in September one of the reasons RTÉ2 was such a major fall from Sept last year. As Iseegirls pointed out RTÉ2s sports coverage in October will see them increase their audience share and it will also include the GAA replay. But look at how UK audiences watched their trad TV channels

ITV 15%
C4 6%
BBC2 5%
C5 4%
Total 51% plus 1 bring it to 53%

Now in saying that it takes 7 Irish TV channels and their plus 1s to reach 46%!

ITV2, 3, and 4 (well some of it) are available on Virgin Media, but don't sell advertising here.

But all of ITV and all of Ch4 and all of Ch5 are available on Freesat - for FREE.

Why pay to watch the 'much of a muchness' on Sky channels that can only get to be watched by 7% of TV watched? - (and that includes the expensive sports channels).

In many cases - and in particular in Dublin - it's because people have always paid for cable TV, and either don't know any different or aren't bothered going to the trouble of changing. Never underestimate the power of inertia.

Some people cannot legally put a satellite dish up due to restrictive covenants they have entered into. Other than those I do agree that unless you are a sports fan, or really love Sky Atlantic's HBO stuff, there really is no need to take pay TV now.

RTE2 continues to get audience for sport but for little else. The Hangover part 3 had 118,000 viwers with Louis Theroux getting 100,000. after that its all below 90,000 viewers. Can't Cope Won't Cope had 66,000 viewers, with Kevin McGahern's America getting 62,000. for all the publicity Paying for Sex didn't pay off with 62,000 viewers, while Pixies sex clinic had 58,000 viewers.

TV3's Xfactor results had 201,000 viewers with x factor getting 187,000. Champions League had 145,000 viewers and Celebrity tipping point had 139,000 viewers and Catchphrase had 121,000 viewers.

Red Rock dropped to 97,000 viewers with PKTonight at 91,000 viewers (adults), goggle box dropped to 90,000. The Seven O'Clock Show had 62,000 viewers beating expose with 61,000 viewers.

Over on UTV Ireland The Pulse had 79,000 viewers. Nothing outside the soaps had above 100,000 viewers.

TV3's Xfactor had 209,000 viewers with the results getting 186,000. Gogglebox had 140,000 viewers just beating that show of shows Catchphrase with 139,000 viewers. Red Rock move has helped with a return to 117,000 viewers, Pat Kenny was also up at 114,000 viewers, with VB just behind with 110,000 viewers. Living With Lucy was down to 85,000 viewers, Xpose had 67,000 viewers while my fav TSOCS had 63,000 on Tuesday night, with no other showing. None of their 18:30 programmes make it into the top 20.

RTE2's repeat of The Fall had 169,000 viewers for the final episode, with Rural Addiction getting 103,000 and 102,000 for its first showing and repeat. Home and Away slight up? 84,000 to 67,000 viewers. Fr Ted with 79,000. Scorchio had 70,000, with Wild Japan getting 52,000 viewers.

RTE's cutting edge did not make the top twenty, the return of Ireland's Fittest Family had 245,000 viewers.

Sport tops the chart for RTE2 with 134,000 viewers for Champions League and the FAI Cup Final getting 104,000 viewers. Home and Away had 61,000 to 89,000 viewers. Masterchef had 55,000 viewers.

TV3's Xfactor had 188,000 for the resutls with the live show getting 167,000. Brendan Grace had 142,000 viewers but Red Rock was down to 94,000 viewers. Champions league had 125,000 viewers. with Catchprase staying steady with 118,000 viewers. Gogglebox retained 115,000. PKTonight had 94,000 viewers. Xpose had 73,000 viewers on Tuesday night and 71,000 viewers on Friday night. (some reports suggesting an increase but hard to tell with Xpose TBH it rarely gets into the top 20 shows.

UTV Ireland both had US elections shows UTV Ireland getting 69,000 viewers with TV3's getting 74,000 viewers. The Pulse had 74,000 viewers.

Looks like TV3 are ditching their 8.30/9.30 programme starts from next week. Goggle box and Pat Kenny on at 10pm. Obviously felt the ratings didn't improve with the change.

Think I heard Red rock is going on a mid-season break after tonight, which is odd as its only been on a few weeks.
