Official Conor McGregor thread (part 2). Read warning in 1st post

The last thread was nearing the 10k post limit so here's part 2.

The same rules as the last thread apply here. People seem to have strong opinions either way when it comes to McGregor and threads here tend to get a bit heated from time to time. Please keep it civil and discuss all things Conor in a mature way.
Any name-calling, trolling, baiting, or being a general ass-hat will earn you a ban from the thread and possibly the forum.
If you have an issue with a post, please use the report post function. Any off topic posts will be deleted.
Any "Do you even train Bro?" or "I'm an mma fan longer than you" type posts are not permitted either. They only make you look like a fool and as a result, everyone hates you. Yes everyone.

Gotcha. If Conor drops the belt then I'd imagine Aldo won't be refusing to fight anyone. He'd just be fighting for the official title.

The FW belt is stripped for sure, the LW belt probably has a time limit attached, as in if he does not sign to take a fight by x date then that goes too. Probably creating an interim belt in the mean time to sort out who his return will be against and buy them time.

Eddie Alvarez chin. 2 things we know for certain - he gets hit a lot. And when he gets hit clean, his legs buckle. The other thing we know for sure is he has tremendous heart, not too dis-similar to Nate Diaz. He can get dropped and get up and keep fighting.

The question is can he take Conors power and accuracy? I don't think so. The most interesting fight in the following list is the Cerrone fight. Alvarez striking was so poor in that fight, head down wildly swinging. And what's more, by the 2nd and 3rd rounds Cerrone didn't respect his power and walked straight through Alvarez best shots. Proceeded to drop Eddie with some powerful knees and wrecking his lead leg with kicks.

I haven't included the Loughran fight (the last Irishman to buckle Eddies legs!) as i can't find it at the moment. Shinya Aoki also buckled his legs.

Back in the day Conor had to sell a load of tickets and give Kavanagh the money. He sold them all and blew the money on drink and bets AFAIK. And then stopped training as he didn't have the money. Eventually Kavanagh went to his gaf and said forget the money you're either all-in or good luck....and Conor showed up on the monday and rest is history.

Conor walks into a MMA gym for the first time. And wants to jump in with their best guy. That's hardly surprising. He did exactly the same thing when he walked into 10th Planet.
Ais being hit with a body shot and dropped. Thats unfortunate, but it happens. Playing it up as it was with malicious intent is odd.

Knocking an over zealous new guy down a legis something that has probably happened in every MMA/BJJ gym.

It seems pretty certain the missus is pregnant and he is going to take a break from the constant training, travelling and media commitments for a period. Will do him no harm whatsoever to step away for a while, he has been non stop for a long time now, has to take its toll.

Bisping said recently that if it wasn't for him McGregor would be working a minimum wage job.

Bisping has had a few pops at Conor recently so it's no surprise if he has finally fired back.

I actually don't see the fight going that long at all. Eddie is no bum by any stretch, not at all at all, but he's too stiff for someone like Conor. He can't fight on the outside against Conor, and trying to steamroll him won't work out well. He's going to get cracked on the sweetspot early. Conor has sufficient takedown defense (yes, I'm continuing with the American terms here) to cope with Eddie.

Widely accepted if he can take him down, pass the guard, take his back, or whatever, might be an unfortunate early night for Mystic Mac, but as I see it it will be two hits involved, Conor hitting Eddie, and Eddie hitting the floor.

Most McGregor fans (esp Americans) are underestimating Eddie. Most who aren't McGregor fans are underestimating McGregor. It's usually the way it goes.

Both men are confident with their gameplans. Should be a great fight.
