Just had a reminder of a past fancy when I saw something about the TV show The Nanny. If you know it, it was the brainchild of Fran Drescher, who wrote it to play to her strengths as an obnoxious Noo Yawker with the fashion sense of Liberace on LSD and a voice like the QE2's foghorn (an actual quote from the show).
