The same could have been said of a few of our now nailed on starters at different times though...the energy of his game suits the team anyway, looking forward to seeing what he can do when he starts getting more senior game time.

Ings is a decent back up player and was unfortunate with his injury. If it turns out he gets little or no game time it will mean things have gone well and sturridge has stayed fit.

Cup games for Ings at best unless there's a crisis but hopefully he'll stick about and be rewarded next season what with CL football and all

oh agreed, people choose their club for many reasons. What I am referring to is what you referred to as a small time attitude and that would correlate to why a person chose a particular club to support. Not everyone has the same reasons, but isn't it amazing how so many people think and post in the exact same way and all support the same club and all act in this 'small time' manner?

At least it's a young squad for the most part, so a few of the lads not getting game time can afford to wait a year or two before reassessing their careers.

If we do get CL football then unfortunately, unless he gets game time this season due to injuries and impresses, we'll likely recruit a better version of Ings for next season I'd imagine, but who knows I guess.

Great pass from Klavan. What it does highlight though is the difference of using a left footed player on the left.

If he was naturally left footed Milner would have cut it back first time taking out three defenders and leaving Firmino? (Not quite sure who it is in the gif) with a clean shot on goal.

Being right footed his natural instinct was to control it first with his right foot.

It's a small thing but could be the difference with a similar situation in a tight game

We'll inevitably see a LB being bought in Jan or the Summer.

Milner is after doing well in all games so far, he IMO has plenty brownie points in the bag and it's important to remember that goals happen in football so even if someone gets the better of him and scores it's not necessarily his fault

Not contesting CL or EL & quite likely not challenging for the title Milner at LB for the season we might well get away with.

Lads, thinks are looking up. The feeling around Liverpool seems to be buoyant and long may it last. Not going to get carried away just yet though. Come Christmas time though if we're still in the running I may get a little more excited, but not too much!

Have to say klavans aerial ability impressed me very much on saturday. Dont think he lost one header. Also matip i dont think has lost an aerial duel since he arrived.

Long may it continue as too many times in the past our centre halfs have been bullied by the lesser teams more robust approach

Chelsea have won the league with Ivanovic at right back and United have won the league with Valencia at right back. Not too concerned with Milner playing there.

So I think we will be okay with Milner for the moment. Klopp said that Moreno was the best player in training for a while now.

Maybe he did the right thing and take him out of the firing line after the Arsenal game. Get his methods drilled in to Moreno's head and then when he's ready return him to left back.

We'll see I suppose.

I was over at the game on Sat (I know picked a good one!)...

Firstly the new stand is great huge sound when everyone roars it must be deafening from the pitch...The views are great we were about 8 rows from the back and the views were superb. The atmosphere could have been better tho..

Match observations - Hull were **** it took them less than 10 mins to realise they need to sit back and hold on

Firmino's off the ball running is something that often goes unnoticed.

Every time Mané and Coutinho got on the ball you were off your seat. There was so much movement into the box which really unnerved Hull. Ever since Suarez left and the opposition parked the bus we got used to the ball being moved left and right outside the box hoping for a bit of Coutinho magic...but not anymore.

Wijnaldum & Henderson were everywhere they needed to be and basically kept the ball in Hull half.

Lambert and Carra calling it spot on about a year ago.

Lallana has looked like a complete different player than the one we saw under Rodgers. Lets hope he can keep adding goals to his game, because it was one area he was really falling down on.
