I'm not sure. It may seem that way because we live in an age where we can give and defend those opinions for the world to see.
Personally I don't bother too much in defending mine. I'm not going to argue why I believe open borders are a bad idea or why Hillary Clinton only cares about her own interests. Other people are entitled to their beliefs.

I've no idea what the age profile is. I've seen some people in their 60's on boards young at heart so not sure what you mean by young.
