Is living with women always this headwrecking?

Hello people of after hours.

I have found myself in the unlikely situation where I am in a relationship. I am amazed as all all of my friends who have said I would be forever alone. In fact I have now managed to maintain a relationship for a whole year and we moved in together recently. All was going great for about 6 weeks. Then she decided to wreck my head with her head wrecking nonsense.

Yesterday I was sitting on the laptop listening to Spotify as I always tend to do. I was in the living room and she was on Youtube watching videos of cute babies and how to apply make up which usually means she is in a good mood.

I am listening to Nevermind thinking I can't believe it's 25 years old and enjoying a delicious alcoholic beverage. The tranquility is destroyed however by a raging MrsSemenInMyEyes. She had apparently called me 3 times and got no response because I was enjoying the chorus of "Breed" at a rather high volume. She then proceeded to have an argument with me saying that I shouldn't listen to music on headphones because it means I can't hear her calling me. She suggested I play the music out loud but I reminded her that when I did that last week she kept telling me to play something else so she can listen to it too. At this point she threw what can only be destroyed as a temper tantrum and disappeared into the bedroom and didn't talk to me until this morning. She was like you shouldn't listen to music in case I want to talk to you and I'm like you could at any moment in time decide to strike up conversation with me sweetheart. If I followed your rule I would be a slave and have to listen to endless amounts of gossipy nonsense.

No love was made last night. Not even a kiss goodnight. This is but one example of her head wrecking ways. She always asks me questions like "Why didn't you empty the bin" to which I can only respond "I was not aware it was full yet". This is a few weeks ago.

So guys and girls? Is living with your other half sometimes completely head wrecking?

Look at this from your girlfriend's point of view, OP. It's inevitably head-wrecking to date someone whose never been in a relationship.

In my experience they tend to be less considerate of other people, and less emotionally intelligent than people who've had some experience of dating. And the inevitable breakup will be agonisingly self-indulgent/ hysterical.

Whenever I go on a first date and hear the immortal words "I've never been in a serious relationship", I weigh up my chances of getting the ride that night, because one thing is sure, we'll never see one another again.

Ah the old kitchen bin.

The bin i don't put anything in as i don't want a smelly kitchen, so i put everything we use straight into the wheelie bin. But she fills it with tons of crap and then expects me to put it out. And then starts a fight if it's not done. It's all my fault.

But when i take a dump and leave it there and ask her why she hasn't flushed my sh!t away she says its not the same and gets in another mood.

This. It depends on the bloke's personality too mind you. A lot. Some are just monumental knob ends and I am not shocked when the women in their lives give them static.

My husband and I both have Asperger's and we met and married in our mid-40s. Our heads are already pre-wrecked, and the dust has settled and the grass is growing on top of the wreckage. We manage because we know we're both hard work, but we consider it worth it. Neither of us nag, but then again, the trash sometimes doesn't get emptied at the exact optimum time... so what.

Having actually read the OP, yes she's being highly unreasonable. If this was a once off I'd let it go, if this was how she generally is I wouldn't be living with her in the first place tbh. I despise people who yell from one room to the other, if it's important enough either come and say it or send a text. But, I'm a musician and producer so I spend half my life with headphones on, and if anyone threatened the sanctity of that they'd be sleeping in the garden for a night or two with the local foxes.
