Okay, we've had a lot of chat on the BA and Personal Sales Links thread of late, and even the constructive posts really need to be merged into the Alert they relate to. As a result I'm setting up a non-sticky (we've already maxed our allocation

) sister thread for all the extra stuff from BA and Ads to go into:

- Important info about an Alert or Sale that may affect its validity (positive or negative)
- Responses-in-turn to the above info
- Constructive chat about an Alert/Sale
- Discussion of the rules on the BA/Sale threads themselves

As more people use this thread I may begin to phase even the "important info" out of the official no-chat BA thread as hopefully we'll have it all in here and anything earth-shatteringly relevant to an Alert can be copied from here into the Alert by the OP or passing Mods (most likely myself).

Anyway, to start the ball rolling I'll regurgitate a nice waste of space I posted myself earlier to clear some stuff up for any who didn't see it on BA before I edited the post in question:

f) This too was relaxed a while back. However, if the levels of chat do not decrease soon I will be forced to bring this practice back. Of course, posts deleted in good will (i.e. requests and refactoring useful information) will be ignored. Stuff like "lol I'd like one of those" will not.

Apologies for any typos, all out of batteries and I haven't had a chance to filch a wired keyboard off my sister yet...

Bear in mind that some of the stuff above will start to become obsolete if we can pull off this thread and shift the focus a bit.

Also bear in mind that this is a discussion thread, not an off-topic thread!

Please keep them "LOL THATS A CRAP PRICE!1!" and "AMG I WANT 1 2!!" comments to a minimum!

You won't find a 470 for £150 before Christmas I don't think. Even at £175 it's still cheaper than most places. After christmas sales it should drop to that level again though.

Obviously check the condition (use google translate for EU sites) but I think it can be worth it, cheaper than adverts with more comeback.

I think the only issue with warranty is getting your money back rather than a replacement from Amazon. Got a laptop in perfect nick from the warehouse before and was able to register it on the manufacturers site for full warranty.

In case anyone is interested enter your search terms from the main box from these links to search the select products as the regular warehouse search can show products not included in the promotion.

I think with Amazon Warehouse you only get 30 days warranty, and no manufactures warranty. If you return the goods you probably wont get a replacement due to the limited Warehouse stock. Amazon may honor a warranty with them but in the small print they suggest approaching the manufacture. I wonder if the £50 off is worth it.

Just down from that it says Used: Good and a hyperlink that says Details. Click on details and you'll get the description.

If you've some time on your hands over the next few days (and a bit of patience) you could do worse than checking out the Amazon Warehouse Deals 50 off 200 promotion (on UK, IT, FR and DE). They are taking 50 euro or pounds off of purchases of "select" items from the warehouse. Stock is changing and updated on a regular enough basis.

Most of the Amazon warehouse stuff is in pretty good nick and comes with the usual Amazon warranty.

Examples i've seen would be an RX 480 for €216 reduced to €166, gtx 1060 6gb going from £220 to £170. It's hard to get processors like 6700k or 6600k as they seem to fly out of stock really quickly.

And if you know anyone in spain that you could get stuff shipped to (they won't send warehouse stuff outside spain from what i can see), you can get processors easier. 6600k for €205 reduced to €155 was one I was trying to go for but there is much more if you're at a loose end.

Also, even without the discount there are some good bargains, a 1tb WD Blue drive for £13 damaged box only.

The minimum you should be going for would be a GTX 1050ti. Even that wouldn't be a huge upgrade. Like Kiki said, RX 470 or GTX 1060 would provide a good upgrade for about €180 and up.
