He was taking fights regularly and not pulling out etc. There was goodwill there. But i get the feeling over the last while he has been pushing the UFC very hard and the relationship has soured. The goodwill has gone now so they aren't bothered about Conor getting the change to hold two belts. The UFC appear to be moving back towards legitimatising the belts. So now Khabib as No1 contender is getting the nod for the LWE title fight and Conor is being pushed back in the direction of defending his FW belt.

TimRiggins wrote: » That's no stumbling block whatsoever. All he has to do is go to the NSAC's doctor and get it cleared.
Conor McGregor: Must have left foot/ankle fracture cleared by an orthopedic doctor or no contest until 02/17/17;minimum suspension until 10/20/17,

In those 4 fights Conor had disclosed purses of $3 million, $1 million, $500,000 (x2). The UFC is traditionally accepted to make around 60% in profit of the PPV gross, after they factor in marketing, production, fight pay etc etc. We can't be certain, it could be higher or lower, but it's a fair ball-park. So McGregor for 189/194/196/202 was paid $31.5 million out of a net profit he made the UFC of €199.7 million.
Demetrious got $191,000 by defeating Dodson. The Gate was $1.3 million. PPV buys were 115,000. His PPV points were reported to be $3 but i'm not sure how much he made out of the tiered system. Let's assume it was $1 for the bottom tier. That's $300,000 out of the reported net profit of the event of $1.2 million. So you've a fighter in DJ who brings in very little money for the UFC, very few eyeballs yet ends up making 25% of the total net profit on the event.
Mellor wrote: » As I mentioned above, he's block by the NSAC until mid October. This has always been the case since UFC 202. And the main obstacle. He's either have to disobey the commission, or come into the fight with a very short camp. Per reports, it's looking like they offer Eddie a fight with Khabib at 205. He refused to sign and kept angling for McGregor. The deadline for 205 has past, so now he's been offer Khabib at 206. He still wants McGregor.

Feels like Eddie and Conor and trying to force Dana to make the fight between them,Eddie seems to be resisting to sign for the Khabib fight and as long as he has the belt he has leverage and i guess he is using it to try and get the big payday. Who can blame him coz once the belt is gone he is like Rockhold and Weidman complaining about pay etc with no leverage.
Paully D wrote: » Of course Alvarez wants to fight Conor. When you see what others are making, Eddie is vastly overpaid on his current $150,000 a fight deal and IMO hasn't looked at all impressive in the UFC apart from the dos Anjos fight, with 2 split decisions wins against fighters on multiple fight losing streaks and a loss. I know he beat dos Anjos but out of the UFC's rankings, I genuinely don't think he'd beat any of their top 5 fighters (obviously excluding the aforementioned) - Khabib, Ferguson, Diaz, Barboza, Cowboy. He will never get an opportunity like this again, I still can't actually fathom how he has ended up with the belt, and he would obviously milk a potential McGregor fight for all it's worth. None of us know for sure, but I feel there's 2 very realistic possibilities: 1) McGregor won't give up the 145 title which Dana wants him to do and there's a power stand off with Dana trying to win out by threatening to give the 155 shot to someone else 2) Alvarez is going too far with his demands You could say Conor might be going too far with his demands but I think this would be very straightforward to sort out as the UFC clearly know what be brings to the table. Anyway, it'd be cool to see McGregor on the 205 card but after how much the Diaz camp, build up and subsequent fight must have taken out of him all things considered (along with the injury) I wouldn't be averse at all to seeing him take a bit more time off. New York would be very, very rushed.

Obviously Khabib's striking is a bit wild and isn't really his strong point but Horcher never had him in any kind of trouble for that first minute or two. Horcher had a pretty solid record including some Bellator fights so him at least holding his own in the standup isn't massively surprising. Ring rust played a part for Khabib I'm sure also. And sure Tony nearly got knocked out in his own short notice fight against a nobody recently! It's a shame that original match-up never came to fruition.
