Just finished a 70km spin around southern Lanzarote. Sweet jebus the wind made it tough :eek: It was hot as well; I have never ridden in temperatures as hot, but I could handle it. The wind though nearly broke me!

Part of the problem with this junction is that there is curb between the bike lane and the road which means you are almost at the corner by the time you can get back on the road.
The only way around it is to just use the road on the bridge.

I'm not sure where to put this as we don't have a reader's bikes thread (Images of beauty notwithstanding). I saw tomasrojo's Bakfiets today in the environs of Dundrum, it's owner wasn't present otherwise he would have received a "Hi Boardsie!" shout.

Am in Lisbon on hols at the moment. Has to be the least cyclist friendly city I've been in. Heat, polished cobbles, extremely hilly, tram lines everywhere, narrow streets.

Nice plan in Malmö - Swedish apartment block being built with no car parking but with parking for bikes and cargo bikes and some cargo bike pooling for residents.

Have to say its been very uplifting to see a few kids cycling to school this week. Some on roads that more concerned parents (incorrectly) would not let their kids cycle on. Generally quite good roadcraft and alot less stupidity than their older counter parts heading into university.

I usually use a large folding-bike bag cable-tied to a trailer to carry spare wheels. Probably not much use to you.
