On a bike that is too big for him??

I've got burned a couple of times lately by a young chap fitting that description between Blake's Cross and Swords. On both occasions he passed me with his work boots and tracksuit bottoms flapping in the wind but I couldn't hold his wheel despite throwing the kitchen sink at him. :o

Didn't appear on Strava Fly By either.

Might be but he seems to be on Cruagh most evenings, this lad doesn't look like he's under too much pressure either.
Would try to chat with him but the headphones and the speed he passes me don't help

Is that a lesser spotted left hand drive train?

I know who you're talking about, he's a former neighbour of mine. He goes out every evening up the hills.

Something funny looking about the handlebars too.

If he wasn't cross chaining and pulling the brakes he might have an easier time getting up that hill.

He's also got a fairly extreme cleat position, if they're even cleats.

Looks to me like a UK hill climb TTers bike. They love using cut off bars, old low pro bikes and down tube shifters to save weight.

the wheels look very spoke-heavy, but i think that's just the motion blur (which has been applied to the spokes but not the valves, seemingly)

Jack Bauer has been getting a lot of mentions on the Tour of Britain today.

Why am I disappointed that he doesn't look like Kiefer Sutherland?

Why is it a stupid name?
Are cycling teams not usually named after their sponsor?

It's the 'Team Sky', 'Team GB', etc that sounds stupid to me. If they were just called Sky it wouldn't sound stupid (to me); 'Team Sky' sounds like something out of Thunderbirds. Team Sky are go!

if someone paid me enough i wouldn't care what it was called

agreed; a bit like saying 'team liverpool are competing against team manchester united in a sport soccer game tonight at stadium anfield'.
