I'm currently parked by the entrance to the maternity hospital in the CUH, watching heavily pregnant women smoke. Fűcking scumbags.

They should be jailed in my opinion. What are AH thoughts on the matter?

By some miracle these women's kids will have no defects at birth you can be sure.Another woman taking all her supplements, folic acid, etc. and watching everything she eats can have a child with a defect at birth.Unfair isn't it?!

Presume there are those who argue that you shouldn't have the right to do something that might have a small chance of harming the foetus...but you should have the right to terminate it...

It's hardly an indication that they are willing to make the necessary sacrifices for their baby/child in the future when they won't even sacrifice their cigarettes for the sake of the baby's health. I'm assuming that was what the poster meant but obviously I can't speak for them so could be wrong!

See them all the time outside the Coombe. They used to have a wood wig wam smoking hut type thingy but smoking was banned on the grounds and so they couldn't use that either. Now they either smoke outside the gate or use the bus stop 20 yards up the road if it's raining.

I don't mind as I make the Irish version of the Ready To Drop flicks (Up The Duff & Having A Puff).

Not giving up cigarettes for the sake of your babies health is hardly a good start to parenthood. Good parenting involves putting the child's needs first and if that comes as a sarcifice to a patent then so be it.
