Just this morning I caught a Growlithe in Merrion Square (near the main entrance-pepper canister church side-walk towards Dermot Morgan seat) but it's not a super spawn. This was only the second growlithe I caught since I started playing a month ago.

I find it irritating that the usual pidgeys, ratatas and fkin drowzees are the mainstay. I checked my pokedex and saw that I have caught well over 100 pidgeys!!!

lets be honest all of the fun in this game is in the hunting and that is patchy at best with no tracker you can walk 10k and catch nothing but pigys and ratata's a tracker is definitly needed.

Peer to peer battling and trading is a must , the card game was so popular for this reason but i think Nintic will be reluctant to do this as if trading is allowed players my have less incentive to buy from the app.

Having caught 110 of the original 152 now i'm really only down to rare spawns and evolves at this point , which makes it super hard to get any further without proper tracking.

Think if they don't make improvements soon there gunna loose allot of users quite quickly as the gym battling is really not engaing enough in the long run

There was a Growlithe spawn at St. Patrick's Park a while ago, but that was before they switched the spawns around. That's where I caught most of my Growlithes. Unfortunately I didn't get enough Growlithe candies before the spawns were switched.

Then like Barraldo I caught a couple at Merrion Square. The rest I caught at various places. I'm pretty sure I caught one at Phoenix Park.

Still, they're pretty hard to find alright. If it wasn't for me getting more than the half the candies needed from the St. Patricks Park spawn a while back, I wouldn't have an Arcanine yet

Where is the consistency?

Is it possible for bots to take gyms remotely?
My home town, has 3 gyms all taken by 25+ mystic, up until 2 weeks ago the max was level 15. Now anytime I take a gym (day or night) they are taken back within an hour.

I'm not sure about bots, but GPS spoofers can.

Egg Hatching is very hit and miss..... got my first Growlithe from an 5k egg but my 2k eggs only get me weedles and pidgeys.

Have only had 1 10km egg thus far.

Had a quick passing drive through Bull island/Dollymount..... Picked up a Rhydon, a Kabuto, a Mankey and Doduo... all in 20 minutes and all new to the pokedex.... plus got a few cubones, Nidrorans and Sandshews

Seriously great tip.... never expected to get all that in 20 minutes...... not a Rattata in sight either

As far as I know, it's the level that you got your egg that counts. So some egg in your bag you got at level 6 will be fairly shíte. But there's also an element of randomness too, so level 23 still has a chance of being a low cp, but a much slimmer chance. Bots can take gyms remotely, but they're getting banned. Very annoying though

I think given that you renamed all three previously, that you just got lucky evolving again into what you had renamed them. Based on what I've read anyway, it only works once, and that's been the case for me, despite trying a few times.

You were quite lucky on both! I would imagine the chance of getting one of those is low, getting two even lower again. I read somewhere that pikachu hatching chances are 1/14 or 7%. would imagine dratini is quite low too given the potential for a high dragonite.

Don't see the inconsistency! you just got lucky imo.

I think the Eevee thing only works once.
I tried to evolve a 550 Eevee into a Jolteon (great for taking / boosting gyms) but I got a flareon (meh). Did everything right rename, restart etc.

I think it still seems to work sometimes because you have a 1 in 3 chance of getting what you want.

I was lucky on the Pikachu, no doubt.
But I've hatched my fair share of weedles and zubats.

I've changed how I play the game, my main focus is on taking and strengthening gyms. I use the coins to buy incubators.

I've managed to hold 7 at once, that lasted for about half an hour

But I got my coins.
I've held a gym for 6 days, I think that has been my longest streak.

Anyone got better gym records?

In the early days post-release and after they sorted the "can't take a gym" bug out it was easier to take and hold gyms - I drive from Dublin to Tipperary a fair bit and knew where gyms were likely to be from Ingress days. The first time I took some gyms on the way down - Mountrath, Moneygall, Dunkerrin IIRC they stayed mine for over a week.

Times have changed now, though, and there are a *lot* more people playing PoGo than there were Ingress. I can't even keep the Dunkerrin gym for more than a day!

6 days hahahaha try Dublin pal my longest was 7 hours and that was only because i took a Gym at the Phoenix park water tower at the reception center 5 minutes before they shut the gates for the night, most places your lucky if you get and hour and in the city center you have to scoop the coins as soon as you drop the mon because they can go in minutes , took the spire gym 5 times longest i've held it is 56 minutes makes picking up coins a nightmare 10-20 a day is the absolute max you could take

Lol - there's only 14 Pokemon that can hatch from a 2km egg so they all have a 1/14 chance, doesn't stop me hatching feckin weedles and Pidgeys on 90% of them.

I would love to see the breakdown of how the Pokemon are distributed in the eggs. I hatched four 5kms together about an hour ago and got two Poliwags, Psyduck and Meowth

I worked out earlier that I've had roughly 135 5km eggs and I still have never seen Porygon, Grimer, Lickitung, Doduo or Abra hatch from one.
I'd say Bulbasaur is the rarest from a 2km egg, I've only had one so far. I've had a few of Charmander, Squirtle and Pikachu from 2kms.

On the flip side I caught another wild Dratini and another wild Abra this afternoon.

That happens to me every now and again. The most recent one was when my phone died and when I came back on there was no stops, gyms, nothing. Bout 15 - 20 mins later it was back to normal.

Bit of a ball ache to get it. You need two gmail accounts and to sign in to pokemon go on one and then set up an API.

Trying to find the name but I can't seem to locate it. Someone posted about it here a few pages ago but I'll try dig it out myself.

Any way we can report this arsehole to Niantic? Ruining the game for everyone. Rare Pokemon even harder to find now because of this ****, people from all over the world will just swoop on you.
