He played an average of 31 games/season in his 6 PL seasons so far, and I don't have the exact figures but I don't remember many cameos/early subs from him FAs a comparison, Agüero's right on 30!

Then, about rotation, he's City best player in my opinion. Agüero's one of the best 9 in the world but it's Silva who pulls the strings. When he's not there, City's game is pretty dull. Now, that's of little use in FPL and was making KDB a much better pick last year but in Guardiola's book I'd be surprised if he doesn't make Silva one of his pivotal player à la Xavi/Iniesta or Lahm/Muller.

Division

I was toying with going with a 15 man squad or sacrificing the bench and hoping for few injuries and but I might have found some cover for the weeks that it is necessary without taking much away from my first choice XI.

While last season I focused on a teams fixtures I will put more emphasis on simply picking quality players this season as I see this as being a very unpredictable season.

What do we think lads? Bench is weak but I'm happy with that starting 11 every week barring injuries.

Loaded up on City cos I think they'll get off to a cracker. Interesting too what Pep said about Fernandinho last week, seems like he's going to mould him like Lahm. Could be a bargain.

Pep hinted at playing him at centre half. That is not something you want.

Yeah he said he could play centre half such is his diversity. The impending £50m arrival of Stones though plus a hopefully for Kompany will put an end to that!

Yeah his infamous ankle injury. But I found him sharply fit at the Euro, probably one of Spain's best player over their disappointing "end of an era" tournament. Ah well it all relies on how Pep will line City up...

I don't see much Value in Martial with Ibra the main forward. He also had a tough Euro. Was supposed to be in the starting XI but Payet's explosion and Coman's progress put him way back in the hierarchy. And when he had his chance, he blew it out, though I found most comments pretty harsh and unfair towards him considering his young age and tough season. And comparing him with Coman was a nonsensical joke 'cause the latter was Guardiola's super sub and he made good impressions in a team firing on all cylinders while Martial managed to gain a starting position in ManU (not a given 1 year ago) and make a very decent season in one of the worst United team of the last 30 years).

Then Costa's currently doubtful. Will he stay at Chelsea anyway? And Lukaku was crap at the Euro but was on the back of a good PL season. Have no idea if he'll stay at Everton too. Right now I'd not get any of them and quite like the GAI frontline

(Gray Aguero Ibra).

I'd agree with a lot of what iroced has posted. In all honesty, I wouldn't go with any of the 4 players you have in your little conundrum. Too early to know what is the story with Lukaku, Costa is injured (I think), Martial will either shine with Ibra there or else he'll fall apart and Silva is another "wait and see" kinda player.

I wouldn't be getting any of them in until I've seen them play.

GK:
Foster best of the 4.5s and Nordfelt least owned of the 4.0s, so less likely to drop.

DEF:
Shaw best route into Utd defense after DDG
Funes Mori is being seriously underestimated IMO, and has 6 great games after a tough opener
Other 3 = Boro/ WBA / CP rotation, giving great fixtures

MID:
Torn between 2xbig guns & 2xbudgets or 4xMid range options, and went with the latter

Pedro may well be further advanced if Costa's not around, decent option anyway
Payet best player in the league (and Euros) for me last year
Firmino settled well last year and could outshine Coutinho this year
Spacecraft......'nuff said
Barry - coin toss between him and Fletcher, whose high % ownership is making me wary

FWD:
2 big dogs and Wilson, who was desperately unlucky with the injury last year. Easy choice for 3rd striker spot.

Well not exactly. FPL has a different formula for <1% owned players and very small movements could see them fall or rise.
Now, if you plan an early WC, you'll probably safe since Nordfelt won't be a priority.

If you go down the Pulis route you may go full circle and associate Foster & Myhill such that you'll be certain to have a playing GK every GW. You may need this extra £0.5m though...

About your team, although I get your thinking behind your midfield selection, I find it pretty risky. Bar Payet, feels a bit like double or quits. Will Klopp continue his insane rotation policy? I do overall agree with you on Firmino though. I've been a very sad owner of Coutinho last year and it was one of the many 50/50 catastrophies that conspired to ruin my FPL season. Will Pedro rebecome a starter under Conte? Townsend was good for the chaotic run-in last year but completely useless before that.

What's all the FPL buzz with Mkhitaryan?

I really like the player but that's not what we're talking about here. He had an exceptional last season with Shakhtar and good stats with Dortmund (bar Klopp's last season when Borussia had a catastrophic start) but this was with 3 attack-minded coaches (Lucescu, Klopp & Tuchel). Will he get as much freedom forward under Mourinho?

So it’s been almost 72 hours since I last made a change so I must be approaching something close to my final team :cool:

The last change I made was to bring in Sturridge for Zlatan – a big call I know but I’m expecting Liverpool to come out of the blocks quickly after a full Klopp pre-season. I’ve seen him listed as a differential in a couple of articles so I’m telling myself it’s not just my Liverpool bias driving this decision.

The Zlatan cash saving also allowed me to bring in Hazard (instead of Firmino) who I think will also hit the ground running.

I’m not 100% on Tadic at the moment – Barkley heading the queue to come in there if I make a change.

Anyway, all feedback welcome…still very much a novice at this

Another Season of Madness, hopefully will manage to get out of the insanely difficult Qualifying League this Year

I've been toying with a lot of options and have read a good few previews of potential team lineups etc.

Below is the first Draft I've been relatively happy with.

GK Pullisball is a template for most on here. I was picking Pope as a low owned but Iroceds comment has made me think twice.

Def This is where the "relative" in my happiness comes in. One of the things we need to be aware of this season is the card potential of any player getting increased. This is why I wouldn't touch the likes of Costa until we see how the refs enforce it. That being said I've gone with a very cheapy option. Middlesborough, Crystal Palace and Burnley have some nice openers. I'm not sure between McCauley and Chester for West Brom but theoretically it should allow me to pick 3 decentish defenders each week for the opening few weeks. (I usually try to hold my Wild Card for the First or Second International Break depending on how badly I'm doing

. I have no big hitters in that defence and this is a worry towards flexibility. I might consider swapping Souare for Shaw or Terry and downgrading Tadic to Deulofeu or something like that.

Mid It has good flexibility in terms of being able to bring in anyone that show blistering form from the outset. Lamela is a bit of a darkhorse but I have a feeling he will do very well this season.

AttHalf of us have it and it's starting to become a bit of a Boards template. The only person I'd consider swapping Gray for currently would be Wilson but we'll see how the rest of the pre-seasons go.

I'd be very grateful for any thoughts ye might have or any suggestions.

Very good balance. It will let you swap in anyone that shows early promise without you needing to WC. Sturridge was nailed for me also at the start but I slowly changed my mind. It's a toin coss. Wilshere is obviously a bit of a gamble, but I would be amazed if Ramsey is not given an extended break following the euros, Wilshere is fresh and is the obvious replacement.

If you want double WBA defence then I would choose a different 4.5m to Leko just in case you want someone like Matty Phillips later.

Avoid Wilshere. He's not a good FPL prospect and is a walking injury. He already picked up a knee knock from the USA tour and might not play this weekend's friendlies. I would also not go with two 4.0m defenders since it leaves you with no margin for error besides using a FT or taking a hit

For me "must haves" are Kun, Ibra, Firmino, Hazard at the moment. Additionally with Mourinho and Conte I think that Chelsea and United cover is also in "less must haves". Valencia - becouse of diffrential to Shaw (who is injury prone) and Courtois as a season holder.

Baines/Coleman are tempting. Maybe Bains will be on the pens.

Although I dont know if its too much and mean too weak mid.

And I'm really not convinced about Townsend. Maybe Redmond instead. Or Deulofeu. I dont know.

Whats yours opinion guys?

Yep, all true and also it's very tough to know who of Firmino, Coutinho or Mane will be the best option, all 3 are worth consideration imo but potentially too much luck needed to land on the right one.

If you're gonna pick a Liverpool mid at the start I'd go for Coutinho. He scored a lot of goals in the games against big teams last season like Man City and Chelsea away. He's more fixture proof than Firmino I think.
