Thanks, averaging about 12 weeks old. I just selected the biggest half of my lambs....

Had a field on an out farm that was getting too strong and felt it was better to keep them all in one group. Anyway, 12 weeks should be OK?

I usually wean at 14 weeks. I would generally have plenty grass, but I often regret not weaning sooner. As I think putting the lambs into the good grass ahead of the ewes and getting them to clean up after the lambs is better...
But yet - when weaning time comes around, I often out it off...

Lambs will be coming off ewes onto reseeding this year, so when we that ready will determine weaning date...
That's if we get some rain soon and the reseed takes...

Went out to check ewes this morning and 2 new lambs . Ewe never went in lamb and put her and few other dry hoggets with the ram in March out of the way. Didn't want to kill her as she was a young ewe. Paid off.

Funny thing she is in with ewes after being weaned 2 weeks ago. Another ewe still has the maternal instinct ins and took one lamb and the maternal mother has the other lamb.

Here's a few photos of the swedes that were set on the 18th of june. They were set at about 700g to the acre which is lighter than normal. They were sown with a precision sower.
