Has anyone been in Dublin Airport recently and seen these?

i wouldn't even call them sleep pods, they're just round holes in the wall with a cushion

Saw them, can't remember how many there were. Anyone can use them. They should have had a compartment to put bags in under you, the base should lift up so you sleep on the lid, therefore can't get robbed.

Came back to Ireland via CdG last year long haul, and was never so relieved to see anything as when I saw an entire floor full of chaise longues - had to loop all my bags around my various limbs, but that couple of hours lying out flat after 9 hours in a seat, and facing another 2+ in another seat, was BLISS.

Those holes in the wall look like hell!

Thanks for all the replies! I do agree that they don't really look like an ideal shape for sleeping in but it seems I'll be hanging around Dublin Airport for a few hours ahead of an early flight in a few weeks so I'm just trying to figure out anywhere that I could lie down for a while and get any bit of sleep. Has anyone had any experience of doing this and maybe know any better alternative spots to lie down? Thanks!

There's a whole rest are where these are, there's a few couch like seats also. It down the end of the loop, opposite Starbucks, where it's splits into the 200 gates and the walkway link to pier D. Just bear in mind theyre after security.

Thank you for the suggestions! Oh damn I didn't realise that, thanks for telling me! Is it possible to go through security late the night before for an early morning flight or is it only for flights that night?

Couldn't see it being a problem, plenty of people get stuck there overnight for various reasons, you'll be grand.

It seems many European airports have these type of pods for people on long layovers.... did you check out the site at Mr. Sleeping Pod ?

These things are not comfy to sleep in. They're grand for relaxing but even at that the couches are better.

I'm 1.72m tall so not exactly a giant either.

Yes, I had a stopover on a long haul and was glad to use the Wi-Fi in one, charge the laptop and get a bit of sleep - agreed, it's not as comfortable as your bed, but it serves a purpose.

Those pods at Dublin airport usually attract a crowd of noisy teens every time I've passed through so not ideal for catching some sleep.

Those things are impossible to sit in never mind sleep.
Ive seen them mostly used as play areas for children, which is all they are fit for tbh.

I know the sort of things you mean. Very handy for a few hours safe sleep. However, I doubt there would be the demand for them in Dublin. Do they even have a public shower in Dublin yet?

Showers/places to rest are really important with long haul and long connections.
