I'd say he's just looking to get the halfback line working without him.
If we end up against Donegal JMac might end up man marking Murphy . He's also possibly being seen as halfback/midfielder material.
He did a decent job on Murphy last time, he's the sort you'd have on AOS too and in that sweeper / second sweeper type role. Could help when we get our shape tested again.

Hey folks,

Apologies for the silly question. My dads a big fan of Dublin Gaa but me not so much, I'm looking to get him tickets to the next game, With the win today, will Dublin be playin on the 6th or the 7th of August in croke park?

Croke park website tells me that on the 6th the Leinster winner wins vs the 7th the Leinster provincial winner plays, so I'm not sure what the difference is.

Also would anyone know when tickets would be on general public sale for either of these?

I had a look and the fixture for the 7th seems to specify hurling, i.e., it'll be Kilkenny against someone.

I think Dermo showed great retraint in only putting your man in a headlock earlier.

Fair play to him for calling a spade a spade. Their number 10 was at it quite a bit too.

Connolly bit though and should have got a black card. I'm sure the likes of Lee Keegan and Johnny Crowley took note. Not to mention the entire Donegal team.;)

A strange game. I thought Small played well throughout. Rock too, he's looking more and more the part. A poor first half by Kilkenny but he was good in the second half, mainly as a link up player, once again both of his his shots dropped short, he really needs to work on that, Donegal and Tyrone would hurt you for that.

Had we 8 forwards for a bit. Andrews for lowndes and O'Callaghan for MAMA . It was one way of dealing with the defensive system that had Westmeaths 15 marking Dublin's 15.

Andrews , Mannion and McManamon in the same forward line was very industrious.

You get the feeling there's a shock coming. I hope JMAC is good to go for the next game.

Kilkenny played left half back in the second half and when MDMA went off Connolly went to midfield. Not for long though, 5 minutes later Bastick replaced him. Weird set up.

Lucky for Small, Ray Connellan broke his leg. Up until that point, he was badly second best. No shame in that mind you. That lad can certainly fetch a ball.

I'd like to avoid Mayo in the quarter final. Cork would be ok but Donegal (might eat these words) would be perfect. They'll never give you an easy game but its highly likely they've regressed since last we played them. Coming through a tough game is what we want.

Possibly. Alright!!
I don't see Westmeath as a benchmark though.
Kilkenny is dropping back more and more in games into a position between the halfback line and midfield. He's being playing well this year IMO but was a bit off in the first half. His shooting was poor yesterday, the options he takes are usually very good but he's very much a confidence player when it comes to taking points. His long range hand passing yesterday was spot on.
Still very ropey at fullback although Fitzsimmons always improves things when he comes on. I thought Lowndes struggled a bit yesterday, i still thought Small had a good first half where he was the only one to constantly use the space available on the right he gave it a go from start to finish.
Would have been a good game from Costello.
I thought both goals were very good the first being textbook B Brogan, that was one of the pluses from yesterday, he was involved with some physical stuff early on and he looks on form, his second point from play was a beauty. .

Anyone any word on JMAC.

So am i right in saying its one from Donegal / Mayo and Cork in the 1/4.

Personally I would like to avoid Donegal if at all possible. What are other people's taughts here?

Donegal would be nice , or Mayo. Cork. I don't think that would be a great game at the moment, they are in a dip at the moment. We might as well get a tough game going asap
