There seems to be a few Rossies on the forum and even though the seniors are done for this year there's still plenty going on, not least the minors great run and the county championship likely to restart very soon.

So. A thread for it all!

Well we are very busy on the Mayo thread.
Lots of honest debate over there.

No need to post about a Mayo v Galway in the Roscommon thread.

No doubt we will be back to post opinions the next time Roscommon play.

One thing I will say about Roscommon is that they now have a great opportunity.

Win Connacht and they play an A side qualifier in the QF, the toughest of those would be Cavan or Tyrone.

Great chance to get to a SF or further if the take it.

Yeah, they're running a one title per decade average so they'll probably get one fairly soon.

If we were averaging one title a decade the GAA would be 210 years old now. There's only six counties in Ireland with more provincial titles than Roscommon.

Pace is key in every forward line.

Well if we play big slow forwards that won't scare Galway to much . Play with pace like we did in the league for some of the games . Players that win run at Galway and put the ****s up them

Our forwards would need to forget where the posts are before we can do that. Mayo's attack was driven from their HB line but ours is from the HF line and the corners.

Big opportunity for Roscommon on Sunday, win the title and you are obviously into a QF.

But a win also means your QF opponent is then one of Clare, Laois, Derry, Meath, Carlow, Cavan, Sligo, Leitrim, Tipp.

All winnable games for Roscommon.

However if you lose you then play one of the above, except Tipp, and meet Kerry in the QF, which will be much tougher.

So come on Rossies, let's see what ye are made of.

Dynamic team named, doubling down on our strengths as a pacy running team. Obvious player to drop back and allow for a sweeper in Keenan to add some pragmatism to the line-up. Beyond accounting for high balls into the square were better off worrying about playing our own game and getting at a Galway defence whose inside line was made look better than it actually is by the sheer number of bodies back and Mayo's relative ineptitude going forward. Two teams with inside lines that will fancy their chances to expose the opposition but I have a sneaking feeling we'll win this one.

Only one worry for me is Purcell. He has been found out and I really didn't expect to see him play for Ros again after his last display.

I expect Mullooly to come out to centre-back, McInerney into full-back and Purcell back to corner, with Keenan sweeping back.

I think this is a real 50/50 match and Roscommon need to get a decent return out of midfield (doubtful) in order to give enough supply to our quality forward line.
