Bad omens on a first date?

For me the two most obvious ones are

1. When she lets people pass between us or walks on the opposite side of street lights and other obstacles when we are walking down the street.

2. She does not put her phone down when we are having a conversation.

For me these are a canary in the coalmine that she is not interested and I say a polite "Nice meeting you" and leave and go right back onto the dating app to see who else is interested.

What about you guys and girls?

The second one isn't a bad omen, that's just someone who's rude or you've completely bored.

Well if they are rude or if I've completely bored them then what's the point? There's no spark. Best to end it as soon as possible in the nicest possible way and go.

I mean on another date another woman might take my arm or I would have my arm on the small of her back. If she is cool with that usually she is into me. I have always found that when a woman is more concerned with weaving around people and things in the way she is probably not interested over all.

The walking thing? Only matters if you are already joined at the hip. I wouldn't give it a second thought unless she does other things to deliberately snub you.

The phone thing? Ordinary bad manners. Most people can multitask, though occasionally you get one like my husband, who seems to be incapable of holding a normal conversation while the TV is on, although he insists that he can hear me talking and is holding up his end (he's not). If she's not capable of multitasking, or if she seems to be using the phone to avoid uncomfortable subjects (what uncomfortable subjects would you be addressing on a first date anyway?), then it's something to think about. I would find it uncomfortable to feel like I was "less than" my date's texting friends or phoning family. Even doctors can put their phones in their pockets, ffs.

I don't know about things like the street light stuff..but I think its just easy to tell if a date is into you or not. They'll make plenty of eye contact, ask questions or give nice long answers to your questions, smile a lot, body language will be open to you..You will feel warm around them.

Not in every single case, Ive gone on dates where I didnt think they liked me but asked me out again. But generally, with most people , I think the above list is quite accurate.

Suffice to say I keep a distance. I don't even think they realise they're doing it, and their lack of respect to other human beings is a huge insight into their inner thoughts and personality.

On a date, and this happens, I drop her. Even new acquaintances, lads etc, I stay polite but would't be overly eager to be associated.

A guy I went on a date did this too, he told me I was cute and stuff lots of times during the evening but I was very from his ideal..couldnt help but be a bit offended still :pac:
He had asked me my type before his said his and I went with generic answers so as not to cause offence but he didnt care too much about people's feelings haha
