    A forum I follow and sometimes comment on has the logo in grey and a line through it. What is this?

    Forums don't have logos. Are you sure that's not a user avatar, specifically the one for a closed or banned account?

    You've already been told - the person who started the thread is site-banned, so that's how their avatar appears.

    Mr E started the RIP thread, therefore you see his avatar beside that one, and so on and so forth. They don't change either.

    You're seeing posts out of order, presumably because this was asked as a question type thread, and an answer was selected, which appears at the top instead on chronological sequence.
