Message failed to send

I'm getting this quite often lately.
Unfortunately I often don't notice for a few hours, which is a pain.
Usually "Try Again" works but not always.
It is only with green, non-Apple, messages.
I'm with Eir.
Any ideas?

Eir/GoMo stretched to the limit.

I don't think that is the problem. Just tried 5 times to send a message [non Apple], then used my wife's phone [also Eir} and it went through straight away.
