This virus will continue to mutate. It's had various mutations already. I'm concerned that the experts don't know what to do! If this new variation is more contagious then are the vaccines doing the job? How many booster shots are we looking at?
I think this is a common misunderstanding, tbh. The primary purpose of vaccines is to reduce the severity of disease, not to reduce transmissibility.
Depends on the vaccine and the disease, but in this case yeah it mostly just reduces the severity of the disease (though it absolutely reduces infections too). It does a bloody good job of that though.

Got it last week and barely a sore arm. Talking to a colleague who got it Monday and he was wiped out, has to take yesterday off. Very variable.
