    Hi guys

Just checking in to see what software people use for commercial remote access support?

We use Logmein Central and have a couple of hundred workstations but am curious to other alternatives that people use and their experiences?

    Hi

We use LogMeIn Central and are migrating away because of costs, security concerns and lack of control.

We are moving all our clients to ScreenConnect. There is a once-off purchase cost followed by an annual support fee.

For that you get the installed software on the remote site plus the equivalent of LogMeIn Rescue in that you give the client a code and a URL to which they browse to set up a remote control session.

You also get file-transfer, session recording, meetings, etc.

Check it out - it's a great product.

    We use bomgar.
Have a bomgar server in our data center and install technician client to users Pj's... You can jump to a PC by name or IP address.... Or pin a jump client to remote PC and it appears in your list.... No idea of cost...

We just left logmein, we had central and rescue and now use gotoassist due to the increase cost

You could always setup your own VPN server with Juniper or similar.
Log on to that server and then from there to the client machines which would also have a juniper box

You can also use openvpn to set up an encrypted vpn connection.

    Hi.

Sorry if I caused you concern. We didn't have any specific problems with LogMeIn's levels of security. The issues related mostly to our customers' security concerns about a third party (LogMeIn) being in control of access to their servers and desktops. Additionally, some customers expressed reservations about third parties (us) having unattended 24/7 access to their servers.

Although LogMeIn had been in place for a number of years and customers had been generally happy for us to have unattended access, the current environment has made businesses far more aware of their own security and that of their suppliers.

My own concerns with LogMeIn relate mainly to their price, not their security.

    Hope this helps

    Regards

    Liam
