Vodafone connection came through today just to let you know.

Solid so far and the customer service is leaps and bounds ahead of eircom.

    Very very helpful.

I thought there customer service was a joke , i was with them since migrating from bt and the line was terrible (not their fault, eircoms) but vodafone didnt have a clue what was wrong.
Clueless idiots is what i think of them , have you seen the vodafone page on here.

    There's your answer right there.

If the line is **** it has nothing to do with vodafone it's an eircom line.

Tbh i'm not listening to customer feedback anymore. I done the same thing with eircom and they turned out to be the biggest joke of a company to ever grace this island.

My connections fine so far so long may it continue.

    Isn't upc is satellite broadband?

If so bad weather can mean bad connection from what i've heard.

    Not for me.

Its cable broadband, so not affected by weather.

    UPC formerly known as chorus

I have the 15mb line from them and have never experienced any lag

The point is any line problems are not vodafones. They're eircoms. That's my point. So why pay over the top prices at eircom to recieve a service you can get at Vodafone?

I just don't see the point myself.

The connection's only temporary at the moment because eircom knocked me off when they got wind of change of service provider. Typical arseholes.

Vodafone have me on a temporary line and will know when the switch is complete.

Even the line i'm on now is steady albeit a bit laggy on MW2. As i said though it's only temporary until the 7mb line comes through.

Here's hoping it doesn't lag but as you rightly said it's an eircom line so it's to be expected.

It's as good as my old line but seeing as this one is only a temp line i'm sure it can only get better when the actual line comes through.

Vodafone have just brought over my 4mb line from eircom until the router is delivered and everything is sorted. It's been less than 2 weeks since i signed up so it's moving swiftly.

Can only see it getting better as my speeds are perfect.

Ping is slightly higher than eircoms but i might give them a ring in a few weeks and ask them to adjust it for online gaming.
As i said before they seem ( to me anyway) to be easy to deal with regarding customer service.

Or, i might pop over onto the broadband part of this messageboard and ask the vodafone guys to do it for me, if i give them my landline.

So all in all same service so far as eircom for a cheaper price. Happy days.
