Looking for optimizing software
energyratinghom
Hi Guys, and Gals.
I'm looking to see if a piece of software exisits,
spreadsheet or dbase to do a general piece of
crude caluclation.
I want to make a timber frame house. I have generated
a cutting list from the specialist design software.
however, i want to be able to use this cut list to
generate a optimised cut list so that I have no waste of
timber. Eg, All yard timbers are standard 4.80m lenght.
I want to calculate what pieces can be cut out of this to
achieve max yield.
Say I have 814 no pieces.

Now, I want to input "paste in" a cut list like this
and be able to get back some thing like......
Items no 12,7,13 = 4.800m
Items no 14,3,6&1 = 4.800m
Items no 5,9,2&15 = 4.790m or something like this, maybe formatted
differently but essentially so that I have very very little
or no waste and max potiential use for my timber.
Should be a whiz for you guys,
Would like to hear back from any one who knows if they
can do this, or even if its done already.
Cheers .
ERH

If I get some free time over the next while I might do it.
