    I have put together a simple Excel template which calculates the cost of importing a guitar from outside the EU (e.g. from US or Japan). This file is zipped and attached to this post. I have put notes in it making it very easy to understand (I think).

    I'd recommend using www.xe.com for currency conversions. It's up-to-date and reliable.

    AFAIK almost any spreadsheet program (eg works, lotus 123 etc) can open .xls (i.e. Excel) files. There are free spreadsheets available to download which should do the trick
