This Charter reflects the posting guidelines which we expect posters to this board to follow. This latest revision was updated 15/02/05.
    1. This board relates to LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgendered, Questioning) issues. Everything else is OT (off topic), and will be moved/deleted as appropriate.
    2. No Gay personals. If you wish to avail of these facilities, websites such as gaydar and outeverywhere, to name but two such sites, provide this facility. If you want to meet other members of this board, I would recommend checking out the Events board for any upcoming social events.
    3. Do NOT post content of an explicit nature here. This includes pornographic pictures, ascii art, sexually explicit text etc. If you want to post up a 'Slydice special' with the shoe on the other foot, take it to After Hours and let Monty deal with it . If you post it here, we will delete the posts without explanation, and ban you for your convenience.
    4. We may well get some trolls on this board. They will be dealt with (barred from the board and reported to admins, namely). Kindly do not feed them. Instead point out the irony of posting up gay bashing material on a gay board.
    5. No flaming. This means posting something that you feel will incite anger and/or abusive posting. This is usually thinly veiled insults. Starting up threads for the singular purpose of inviting such flames is also discouraged. It is the moderators discretion to decide whether such threads have been started or not.
    6. No advertisements. Talk to Dev about banner space if you want to advertise your product/service/establishment etc.
    7. No warez. I can't even believe I have to mention this.
    8. As always no spamming.
    9. As always no spamming.

    General Information

Many people have mentioned various LGBT organisations that perform good work for the gay community. If you feel such an organisation is worthy of mention, then if that organisation has a website it is preferable to add a link to that website in the Resources Links thread on this board. Check and see if the organisation has already been mentioned first. Starting up a thread promoting a specific organisation, no matter how well intentioned, is discouraged.

Unregistered posting has now been enabled. This means that your username and/or IP will not be visible to other posters when posting unregistered. However, we (the moderators) and the admins can use this IP to track you. We will only do this as a last resort however, so all of the above rules still apply. If there is abuse of this feature it will be rescinded.

If you have a problem with any of the moderation techniques used, please feel free to take it up via PM, or you can report it on the Feedback board. We will not discuss it in any of the threads. If you feel that a particular post requires attention by a moderator, then feel free to report that post using the "report post" link visible underneath that post. If the decision to report is upheld action will be taken.

An infraction will usually result in a warning. Repeat offenders will be barred, often temporarily, depending on the severity of the offence. A serious infraction will result in a permanent ban from the board.

Also, ignore the poster underneath me. No fun allowed :).

The following subjects are not kosher for discussion:

Paedophilia, (Ep)hebophilia(except in the context of safety for homosexual youth), bible-bashing(we're well aware of the religious stance on homosexuality) , discussions on whether homosexuality is natural or unnatural or related materials, questioning of trans identities

Any such posts will be immediately deleted and posters will face banning.

The mods will also not tolerate attempts to derail discussions in the forum. See derailing for dummies for further information

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.
